ok my theory
real can be two thing one that exist and the other that it doesn't
how?
real that exists: real exists from the point that there is actually a word to describe
something or someone's reality ok so we got that real exist because the word was created but we do not know if the thing that that word is describing actually exists
real that doesn't exist: define real; real is something that has it's own characteristics like a pencil; well a pencil is yellow sometimes it's made of wood and it paints so the pencil since we defined it OMFG IT'S REAL
real is also something that never changes like "it always rains in winter"
ok so let's see the global warm up made the weather change in the last 300 years
we are in 2305 and it never rains in winter some people said it used to rain in winters but since those people don't live anymore i think it is just a tale to trick us so it must be fake

getting to the point if real is something that you can describe and it never changes then real does not exist
why?
because if you say the pencils are yellow and made of wood and you have a plastic pencil rec colored that means the yellow-wood pencil never existed for you so it isn't real

anyways that's what i think SEN is not real also xD

Technically nothing here on earth or the universe could be real. Maybe the very air we breath isn't real. We just never know; we could be living inside a matrix.

No we don't breath air, We breathe oxygen... And people say you cant see it, But you can...

If you look at something, You will see colors... You will need 20x20 vision to see it...

Real is in the mind of the beholder.

No one can no for sure what real is because the only way to know is to have something which is definetaly real to compare it to. But that's impossible because we don't know if that's even real. So real is what anyone wants to be real.

Umm... actualy, it's more "this one guy's annoying everyone else with his talk about food, and theorizes that the reason that everything "tastes like chicken" may be because of an earlier rhetoric query".

Anyways...
Where'd you get your ideas of what "real" means?
As for what is real, as I like to say, we could be unicorns and dragons on some starcruiser in cryostasis, having weird dreams about this place called "Earth" with such odd, impossible creatures called "humans", and some weird made-up laws, like the conservation of energy. I mean, whoever thought of restricting the universe to having only a set amount of energy and not having it be created or destroyed? Hah!

My point exactly. The only thing I can say to support that is that there has to be something that is real otherwise there would be, um, I don't know what there would be since there can't be nothing which brings us into an ugly paradox that could keep me talking for hours.

The only thing that could be real would be something outside of this "world" we are in. It's also something we cannot comprehend; we dont have the brain power to.

So then everything inside this "world" we are in isn't real?

Well, really we dont know. I(we) are just making some hypothetical guesses or fantasies.

Ya know, SEN could not be real, and just a figure of my imagination. Like that one disease where a person hears and sees things that arent. What if they are and we all just cant see it. Maybe I have the disease amd Blizzard doesnt exist.

And maybe you are a figment of my imagination saying that I'm a figment of your imagination.

It's in response to that.

This is the old "burden of proof" idea.

If you believe that everything around us could not be real, then how do you prove your point? If you say something is not real, then you are saying you KNOW what REAL is! But if you consider everything to be possibly not real, then you have no ground to stand on!

It's like saying: "Oh unicorns COULD exist. Mankind hasn't been in every point in the whole universe at the same time to observe if they don't exist. Ya its true that I have no proof, but they 'could' exist."

This whole topic could be summed up into one word....


MATRIX

To say that everything is not "Real" is going to require a shit load more proof than the whole god thing. Now I can see someone going, well what if there is no proof at all, yet we still live in this fake reality. Well, gee. I guess we're gonna arrogantly make this fake reality, a real reality. Kinda like what we've BEEN doing. So if you get Matrixy, we live in an abstract reality kinda sort. And if u get all UNmatrixy(or any other funky "what is real" type things) then we'll be in a concrete reality. Either way, we're still gonna arrogantly say it's a concrete reality.

(I havn't read all the posts on it. I'm pretty sure someone beat me to this already)

Well no one has exactly said the Matrix is the answer but everything else has been more or less said already.
