I currently am making a map (rpg) about my friends and i at our high school (yea pretty stupid watever...) but i use xtraeditor and isom, i followed all the instructions to make square tiles, (integer=0, write, and then open map), but instead of opening the map, it corrupted it in the game!! ohmy.gif , ppl have said for me to use sf or scm2 for terrain, helpsmilie.gif

ps. i seem to be posting alot of helpsmilie.gif topics....l laugh.gif

People have been telling you to use SCMDraft and Starforge because THEY WORK. Look in the downloads database. people have given you the tip, but apparently you didn't understand that ScmDraft and Starforge are programs. Well... someone's a bit... ah.. nevermind.

I use ISOM, but SCMDraft and SF work better and you can do more with them.

Also, ISOM is WWAAYY out of date. It will take much longer to take care of everything. Get SF or SCNDraft they are like 10x faster (Exaggeration)

Starforge is the most common used editor to plaxe 1x1 square terrain. So just use starfroge to do all your editing.

ISOM isn't out of date, square terrain as bound terrain is out of date.

right...i did understand that they were programs..its just i was wondering if i could use Xtra editor and still make 1x1 tiles, but from all the posts above , i guess not...one more question: Can you make a map with one editor, edit it with another editor, and then open it up in the first editor again?

Yes. One editor saves the map as a map file (.scm or .scx) and any of the editors can open map files

Yes you can, many ppl do it cuz in some editors, it's easier to edit triggers. Though, doing so may cuz a removal of sprites and some stacked units..
