I am looking for people who are interested in making a RPG. It will include some key features:

- My new battle system which allows Hit Point manipulation.
- Random storylines, so not every game will be the same.
- 256x256 map size
- 5 players
- 3 computers (1 for towns, 1 for enemies, 1 for enemy bosses)

If you are interested please send me a private message in your USER CP, as I want to keep this thread as minimal as possible. Please join, especially if you are a terrainer, are very experienced with maps or have many good ideas.

Member list (* indicates to an extent):

Revelade - Triggers/Ideas
Nozumo* - All-around
Cuu - Ideas/Cutscenes
Rayne - Terrain
Asianhobo7 - All around
Orc - Terrain
Deathknight - Ideas
Predieanalien - Music/Effects

PS. The traits I posted is what you are pretty good at. It's not saying you ONLY do this.

UPDATE:

Ok, here's what's gonna happen. I'm going to divide the map into 4 sections, terrain, storyline, triggers, and effects.

PHASE 1) Storyline - this must be done first, so we have a guideline we can follow in the other sections of the map

PHASE 2) Terrain - this is the next section that is to be done, we have to make it creative and very easy to work with at the same time

PHASE 3) Triggers - this comes next after the terrain portion is done

PHASE 4) Effects - this includes: brief, unit coloring, sounds, etc.

The way we are going to do it is to have EVERYONE decide on the phase we are in, THEN move onto the next phase...

One last thing, please guys I really want you to use the Personal Message feature... I know its awkward and annoying, but we have to make this thread easy to read as possible...

Here's what I'm thinking for the storyline... We have one MAJOR story with different sides, and we have switches that randomize which side you are on... If you played Half-Life, you would notice that the expansion packs place you in different roles, but the storyline is the SAME nonetheless...

I want the story to be large, and have lots of replay value, so one game people could say "yea we had to fight the demons!", and the next game, "yea we had to destroy the empire!"... you see randomness makes it so you need to play many times to get the entire story... which is exactly what every mapper wants people to do!

So if you agree/disagree, PM me FIRST... I will post the results later smile.gif

Orc,cuu, rayne, please delete your posts... it will help make it look neater.

Music and such can be added later predalien. You can really help out when we get to that stage... For now, our current goal is to:

1) CHOOSE A TERRAIN
2) WORK ON A STORY

As for the real gameplay, here's a map that shows what I'm thinking... While it might not be exactly perfect, it was made just to give the general idea of the battle system.

Ok the next step is VOTE ON YOUR TERRAIN THAT YOU WANT! Here's a list I would say is appropiate:

- Ice
- Desert
- Jungle (1)
- Twilight

The rest look futuristic and don't really fit in with the weapon system I am thinking of. SO POST YOUR COMMENT ON WHICH TERRAIN YOU WANT!

I vote jungle.
I also need 15 characters to vote.

I'm sorry to say this, but we have a lot of people who say "yea I can do this", and when it comes time to choose a step to take, these people do not respond. So due to the inactivity, other than Deathknight, I'm gonna close this thread. The project however, is still being made by me and Unknown, he is a pretty smart guy with similar thoughts... I'm not trying to be mean, but we need progress, not a goody goody friendship thing tongue.gif

Farewell to this RPG,
Revelade
