At work we have a 36inch wide plotter that accepts rolls of poster quality paper. I have printed Lost Temple at high quality by going into StarEdit and doind a printScreen and pasting the images together in paint. The resulting poster looks amazing. Anyway I want to make posters of the WCG maps, however I cant open them in StarEdit because they are locked. Is there any way I can view locked maps outside of an in game replay?

No. Im sure there are unprotected versions somewhere, but no one would trust you enough to give them to you.
Also, there actually IS a way, but it is really not cool. There are map Unprotectors, but why would you unprotect a protected map? Its done for a reason.
What maps?
Some are by blizzard and i have unprotected versions.

Use Map Generator. It lets you create a fullsize image of the map even if it's locked.

Is this like SCM>JPEG tool by techno_duck (or whatever his name is)? Because there are still some protected maps that will result in an error message (usually "the file is invalid or corrupt") in the DOS window. I think I'll go try Map Generator out.

You should make posters and sell them in korea, I'm sure all those SC fanatics would go crazy over a huge LT poster or a pro map poster. Get some posters of pro players too

Unfortunately, yes. But a small amount of copy/pasting can fix that.

Yea you can use the sc map generator or w/e and make it print out the largest screen shot. But do keep in mind that those take a while to load/open and they're rather... huge.

I dl'ed the map generator software, but i get an error saying the file is corrupted when i try to convert any map. I am using 1.12b software, but that shouldnt matter right?

Stop right there, you will not recieve such a program, nor will you ask for one again.
WCG maps are protected using their own method not ProEdit ... which appears to mess with the terrain section of the chk fille.

Why not ask if someone owns the unprotected versions. Then just ask them to give you an image for it.
