I dont know if it'll work and it's bound to have many problems.
This idea came to me when I was making Mech RPG (I gave up).
Basically, the units in it could "Dual Weld" like in Halo2. Though I ended up only maknig bosses duel weld cause if the unit's moved (The trigger cycle is only so fast) the trigger wouldnd find the weapons.

Also, if two of the Dual Welding units came close enouf, the system messed up, so that's why I only used them on bosses. You dont see them often, and I had the system start up when you fougth a boss.

Setup:
- one location.
- all the units you want to dual weld.
- The "weapons" Which can be any unit, like air units above the main unit.

How:

- One computer that has all the units you want to Dual Weld.
- Center location (Around 3x3 would be enough)
- Check to see if it has any weapons. EX: Lets say there was a Rine with a wraith above it's head. Lets call the Rine, SW:LMG (Secondary Weapon: Light Machine Gun.) Lets call the Wraith, MW: LA (Main Weapon: Light Laser)
The trigger will check to see if the gun is there, and then center it onto the main unit, aka, secondary weapon.

Why:
- This system, once all the triggerings are finished, is very efficient. And enymy can do more than dual weld. The ycan triple weld and so on.
- Lets say they wanan swtich weapons, that means they'd heal immediately. (Not fun). This way you can jsut swtich the weapon.

Extras:
- You can use this as an armor system. Look down for mroe info.
- You can use this in many different ways.
- You can make the "bosses" have personalities, which is linked to how they choose their weapons.

Armor System:
- Let's say you want a shield for your person. Ok easy, it's just like the weapon system except it makes the main unti invincible and this oen takes the hits. (You can make it so that the weapons can take damage, though I wouldnt recommend it, because they'd mosty focus on your weapon, since it's probably gonig to be stronger.
- You can have many layers, and many different types.




I know this doesnt sound original, but it is. lol. It is a very hard idea to come up with, since no one ever, ever, has used something like this. (Well... maybe they did, but I've never seen one).

If you want me to Re-explain it, I will cause I am only writing what I remeber from the map. (I dont know where it went! >_< )

I've seen this used and I've used this. It's not as complicated as you make it out to be.

My map you won't find, but you might be able to find the Armored Core 2 map this was in.

Sounds cool, but i don't get the heal immediately, do you just move the weapon to another location the move it back when they use it, so it would have the same health? confused.gif

awesome idea nevertheless,

its people that think up these ideas that turn out to be some of the best map makers.

It's a simple system, the reason people don't use it as it isn't the most efficient in the most situtations. Computers will run away when hit by invinicble units, unless an AI scripts is ordering them to attack.

They wotn run away.... cause i forgot to mention that you should make your weapons blinded so you can only attack what your main person sees.

I was origianlly thingking of that ut:

1. You have to have a comp for each player, or else the weapons might get mixed up.

2. If you did, though, there couldnt be any BSing.
