Fleet Command Map Review and Description 2 teams of 3 players must build a fleet to take down their opposing team. Each team consists of a Fleet Commander (pilot of the Cruiser and commander), Ship crewman and Pilots (one player, commands ships for the fleet and crew that work on Cruiser owned by Fleet Commander), and Base overseer (more of a melee player, he works with crewman/pilot mainly provided crew and pilots and expands to get more cash to buy ships/missiles and such.
In every version of the map included in the ZIP you can buy several different ships and missiles, you can board enemy cruisers and attack from the inside crippling their fleet, you can expand and build a much larger fleet with the help of the base overseer, upgrade, many more fun features.
Great map, tons of hours of gameplay. In this map it takes a lot of team work and 3 competent people to win the game. You can join the game and win on your first time, but one of the requirements is being a fast learner or having someone who knows what they are doing playing with you.
This map is incredibly original in the way that you can maintain the ship from within it which is at the top/bottom of the map respectably. You can board the opponents ship. There is a very nice pilot/crew system and boarding/departing system. A lot of things you wont find in any other map. The terrain isn't that great though ... it could use some work and possibly a larger map. But I guess for a cruiser and fleet vs cruiser and fleet battle this map is large enough.
Everything about this map follows a theme, you won't find many things wrong with it and it takes you into an entirely different world that will make you feel like you're taking on the role of a commander or crew person in the grand scheme of things. However complicated the map is at first, once you learn everything you'll find it hard to forget and you'll find that everything makes sense and becomes self explanatory.
Overall this map is very fun to play and can last for, sometimes, one or two hours long. But I have had games that were half an hour or less. Very hard to get a game, however, because almost no one knows it and when random people do join it's a huge learning curve.
