First of all, StarDraft is outdated, and, as far as I know, doesn't work with SC 1.1 and higher.
Second of all, it should be blindingly obvious.

But oh well, I'll help you anyways.

Launch CWAD manager, new/open .cwd file, import from MPQ, open StarDat/BrooDat, save units to be changed to CWAD, GRP Editor, Export Frames, select unit to be changed, click "ok", modify the frames to be modified, import frames, import the modified sprite files.

It's a quick tutorial for using Arse3+others. I might make a better tutorial later.
Though, I don't know how to use RetroGRP, so I won't be able to help you with that.

When people say StarDraft is outdated, they're talking about the patch loader, the GRP Editor works fine with StarCraft 1.12b.

However, I do recommend you use RetroGRP, for two reasons. It doesn't require you to create a CWAD, and second, its palette is a lot more intuitive in the case of wireframes.
