I want to make a mod for my map, but yet... I don't know what to use, is a mod maker downloadable?
There are no such thing's as Mod Makers, The only way you are going to be able to do this is by, Creating your own Mod, Or just editing a original one, With the creators permission of course.
If you want to create one, Look through all of the tutorials, In the tutorial page, Or just go look at DTBK's pinned topic. From there you may find usefull ways onto creating a simple mod, And probally editing a simple one, And I say again, If you are going to edit a mod, You WILL, Need the creators permission to edit the mod.
No, You only ask the person of the creator of the modification. What do you think were all here for?
We all didn't ask for blizzard's permission to edit evrey thing. The only thing you need permission for is to edit another creators modification.
No. Thecnically, we should have Blizzards permission to do this. Technically, we're violating the SC EULA when we MOD. Nobody at Blizzard gives a damn though.
Ha. Exactly. But I think if we pointed it out to them, They would care. But I haven't heard anything that they did care lately. So I guess it is okay.
No, there are Blizzard employees that have played MODs before. They don't really care much about it at all.
Oh than, Don't worry about getting in trouble with blizzard

Actualy, I think I read at Blizzard's site that they, in fact, are for modding.
I may be remembering incorrectly though.
If they are for modding, Then they wouldent put it in there EULA, But now that they know that were smarter than they think. They don't give a damn, Because theres nothing they can do to stop us from modding.
I can't find the link, but somewhere at blizzard.com I read they do not care if you mod, just as long as it is for personal use.
Yes, but the EULA is from before modding existed. If Blizzard really wanted to, they could crack down on modding legally. But, they don't want to and don't care.
Actually when Camelot Systems launched they talked to Blizzard about a lot of the stuff they were doing and Blizzard said that was okay, as long as they didn't mod the demo version. Blizzard put up a link to Camelot Systems on their links page.
Oh, Than I guess that is pure proof that Blizzard, DOES support modding...
I don't think the word is "support" - I think it's more like "don't condemn." There are times you can cross the line though, the Infoceptor War3 TC was shut down with a letter including the line "if you do not comply, we will be talking to our lawyers." Most probably because it took a lot of the graphics from another one of Blizzard's games to achieve what it did.

I think it's "are for". They don't support it, but they do have a positive attitude regarding mods, as I understand it.
