I was just looking at the
modding tools section of the DLDB, and I noticed that some of the programs either have Not Available for their creator or they're not descriptive enough. I thought it would be respectful to give the people who made the programs the credit if we are going to be using their programs.
So... here's my list of authors
RetroGRP - Created by RetroActive
MemGraft 1.12b - Created by DarkWizzard (Sovereign Modding Empire) and updated to 1.12b by SuicidalInsanity
StarGraft - Created by King Arthur (Camelot Systems)
MPQDraft - Created by Quantam (Campaign Creations)
WinMPQ - Created by ShadowFlare
TblPad - Created by ShadowFlare
After typing that up it's made me realise how much these people have changed my lives just by giving me those modding tools, and so while I'm here posting this, I'd like to give a pat on the back to all those people who have made those programs which I know I have used tirelessly on cold winter nights and warm summer days. I hope they realise that if StarDraft, MPQDraft, WinMPQ, Arsenal III, ICE, IceCC or any other of those programs were never invented, my life would be a lot different right now, and so I thank them for creating those tools.
Wow seriously, if I never met StarCraft modding I might never have even visited forums, and I might never have got the inspiration to learn web programming, which would mean I might not be heading into the career I'm going into now. I'd never be given the situation that would lead me to be a part of a map making team and learn about leadership. I might never have seen the world from the point of view of a person who runs a website, not just a little person who visits it, sees everything at a low level and complains about everything, and that's given me a whole new perspective on things. My life would probably be a whole lot less constructive. I know I'm rambling but, wow, that's amazing! Ha, someone talk to me about it next map night when I'm in the channel, I'll be pleased to tell you how StarCraft modding has changed my life.
So, please could we recognise those wonderful people by putting their correct names on the list...
