I was also trying to add a scanner sweep for a unit, but, it doesn't seem to appear.
I open memgraft, open the buttons tab, add the ability, copy everything from the scanner sweep ability to the new ability I've made, in TechUReq change the requirement to "Is Hero", save it, open the *.exe, create that unit - and the ability isn't there (and in the comsat station the scanner sweep ability is grayed out and shows no text when I move the cursor above it).
What am I doing wrong?

You unit isn't a hero or isn't a spellcaster (both flags in Arsenal III). Make sure "spellcaster" is checked, and why not just set the tech use requirement to unit must be <unit you're using>?

The hero and spellcaster boxes are checked, and most abilities like lockdown and ensnare used "Is Hero" so I assumed it'd work...

They only use "Is Hero" because it also has the "Or" statement after it. Hero units also use the spells as option shows.
Here's how it should look like from left to right:

This is about the simplest you can get without any advance things like "have tech", "is hero", etc.

Would that be the same thing for what I am having problems with here? Because any spell that is enabled (or researched) doesn't appear. If it isn't researched (Greyed-out) it is there though...

Haven't you head of the new invention??? I think they called it "PMing Yoshi" but I'm not sure.
