Eh, once I ever think of NASA or SC or Halo or any space game or reality, I always think 'aliens' would exsist... like why would 'earth' be the only living planet in the universe. And probably cold blooded races if it's around or way over the 10th planet (Planet X/10 is probably the coldest planet we know by now) and we don't know if 'Mars' will becomes like Earth if us earth people change it, (Probably would happen like Doom 3 with the UAC)

Maybe the Black Hole leads to another dimension instead of death, and probably would see the oppisite and can't communicate with the dimension in our side.

What do you think?

if aliens came, and they were peaceful, censored.gif ing shit I would take them over and use them as aliens slaves. Force them to teach us about there tech. And since they are peacefull they wouldn't fight back or even have weapons. muuuu hahahaha

Quote:

"TO INSURE THAT HUMAN CIVILIZATION, NOT ALIEN, RULES THIS GALAXY NOW AND ALWAYS!!!"

*Que to an American Flag waving in the air*

-OR-

*Que to soldiers raising an American flag on the alien's home planet, sort of like the world war 2 rising of the American flag on that pacific island*

(I know its insect, but i put alien)

It's highly doubtful that we are the only planet in the universe with intelligent life. I mean you take the biggest number you can think of, multiply it by 100,000,000,000 and you've maybe numbered a quarter of the planets in the universe. We probably won't meet any aliens any time soon, because although they might exist, they're really fricken far away.
Anyway, the closest I think we'll get in the next millennia is a Starcraft event, minus the protoss and minus every zerg unit except larvae.

i think youre a bit optimist biggrin.gif
seriously, live outer space IS possible AND alternate "black hole" dimensions ARE possibles(i think)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Zycorax on 2005-06-03 at 18:54:56
Is it possible that black holes is a kind of hyperspace huh.gif If it is we could use them to travel much faster trough the universe mellow.gif (Never ask me to test it...)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rantent on 2005-06-03 at 19:50:30
lol, one major point to be made about black hole is that we know absolutely nothing about anything inside a radius around them. Once inside that radius, anything could happen.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2005-06-03 at 20:08:15
Sometimes I think that there could be another planet for human beings. They live just like us and are also trying to look for other life forms. They could be considered aliens to us right? Even we are the same race of things.

I also believe there are other kinds of aliens. It is very possible. I just don't believe in the Alien abduction things. Those people just do it for the attention disgust.gif .

You never really know, Rantent. Maybe we WILL meet the Protoss and all of the various Zerg strains in the next thousand years or so. What about Xenomorphs and Yautja? What about the myriad species of Star Wars? What about the Goa'uld, the Tok'ra, and the Asgard? What about the Covenant and the Flood? Like I said before, you never really know.

Anyone know about that whol event where Steven Hawking and George Lucas are teaming up to show the possibility of life in outer space? Theres an episode every saturday or so. I don't remember if they're still running it, I haven't gotten the chance to tune in so often, but really, you all should check it out if you're wondering about the life on other planets. Hell, its Steven Hawking! That much should atleast interest you. Check out discovery channel for more info, because I'm not a very reliable source. =P

If it were the Yuuzhan Vong from Star Wars, our galaxy would be conquered in very little time.

Until a race can figure out a method of travel faster than the speed of light, we won't be seeing much for a long time. Black holes can't be used for travel, because once something comes near one the gravity crushes it. If it shoots stuff out somewhere, then it won't matter anyway because it would all just be incredibly dense crushed up stuff.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-03 at 23:57:27
I doubt there's any living aliens out there (maybe there are plants and stuff, but not necessarily living creatures)
Report, edit, etc...Posted by FallenDreamer on 2005-06-04 at 00:16:23
No, there probably are living creatures out there. If you consider the chances, then yes, anbsolutely. If you consider environment, well, we can't really go by that since we aren't too well informed on whats out there. But if consider there being atoms and molecules of the same type out there, as there are on Earth, then this also helps to reinforce the possibility. Now, the only thing missing is water, and assuming that Hydrogen and Oxygen are pretty abundant on some distant planet out in the farther reaches of space, then water won't be a problem. But there is still the matter of temperature. Assuming that one of the planets is at the right "range" from a Star or Sun(an Astronomical Unit, basically), then the Water will remain water...for the most part. The only way to make sure it did not evaporate is if the planet had a spin with its orbit, atleast that way, the temperatures would be a bit more controlled. Now, assuming that all of these factors are present, there still remains the absence of one key factor, and if this factor is present, then surely, life will make itself known. And what factor is that, you may ask? Carbon. Now, the actual process of this is probably much more complex then my little rudimentary definition of what would be required, but you get the idea, right?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Rhiom on 2005-06-04 at 01:47:17
due to the massive size of space i think the odds of there being life is something like 11 million to one, the 11 million being for life on other plantes, and the 1 being for no other life. i cant remember the exact numbers for the odds but they are way up there in favor of other life being out there (as long as your taking this from a purely scientific stand point with religiouse beliefs aside).

also for the blackwhole thing, ya might be another dimension on the other side, but your sure as hell not gonna reach it alive, before you reach the event horizon youd be shrunk to roughly the size of grain of sand, just too much graivty to send anyhting through.

Just like to state the Drake Equation. biggrin.gif

N = R* fp ne f l fi fc L

Where:

* R* is rate of formation of suitable stars (stars like the Sun) in the Milky Way galaxy
* fp is the fraction of those stars that have planets
* ne is the number of planets capable of sustaining life around each of those stars having planets
* fl is the fraction of planets capable of sustaining life that actually evolve life
* fi is the fraction of those planets where live has evolved that evolve intelligent life
* fc is the fraction of planets with intelligent life that develop the capability to communicate
* L is the fraction of the planet's life during which the intelligent life can communicate

Do you ever think that somewhere out there, in some paralell universe, the SAME EXACT thing is happening right now? Or maybe, its 5 minutes behind, and in this paralell universe, this post will be made in 5 minutes!?! Etc.

Possible.

Who really cares about what happens. Not like were going to be alive to see it. this holds no importance for ours lives whatsoever. We could be dead in 200 years for all i care.

Well a lot of the discussions in Seriouse Discussion we "Should't really care about".
And I'm pretty sure that the human race will be extinct soon...

What if the biggest number I can think of is 0? lol.
We definitely will go extinct. Poor Mother Earth can't take any more damage, and one day while we are owning the opponent in SC, it might just explode. Bye bye SC! cry.gif

One day the aliens will come; if Earth can support life, why can't the rest of this huge universe? The aliens will not be friendly; all organisms must kill to survive, or else BE killed. But we may destroy ourselves long before the aliens; mere wars used to determine a civilization's survival, but today there are even more obstacles preventing us from uniting. Hope is not lost yet; but with so many points of view, which ones should we listen to?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KrAzY on 2005-06-07 at 23:44:45
What about stars? The only nearest star is the sun... probably beyond our "ten" planet system only has living earth... and probably all those suns probably forms some drawing imaginations in your eyes. Oh yeah, how did earth started anyways?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by KaboomHahahein on 2005-06-08 at 17:58:53
If you ask how earth was started it will turn into those topics with religion and etc.

I just thought of another "freaky" thing. What if there is an exact duplicate of you somewhere far away doing exactly what you do. Like right now he is typing this post about typing this post.

I kinda wish that we could meet some aliens...it would be cool unless they try to destroy us.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MillenniumArmy on 2005-06-08 at 18:04:04
U mean a parallel Universe?

That is quite possible actually. Thing is, we will never figure it out ermm.gif

Pay attention in Earth Science and Biology.

It's impossible. Every single factor that created this galaxy would have to be duplicated, and that'd be impossible.

They always will, so it would never be cool.

You cannot be very sure about all that. And I was just saying things that were very unlikely.
