Alright, I know theres a rule that you can't ask to be a moderator. So, im doing this: Nominate someone else, and we will decide.

The person(s) you nominate must:
  • Have at least 80 posts
  • Be extremely knowledgable of modding
  • Very active
  • You would want representing the mod forums
  • Respective, good english, well liked, etc

Note, this will not actually decide. It's just to help ME decide.

Does BSTR Rhino have at least 80 posts?
Even if he doesn't I don't see that as a huge issue. Entropy doesn't have at least 80 posts.

But anyway, I nominate BSTR Rhino.

I think BSTR will not have alot of time to look after the forums, Since he has his own website and all.

If I can, I would nominate myself, I'am very skilled at making mods, And skilled at helping people.

But I doubt I will ever get a chance.

EDIT:

I also fit perfectly with the requirements.

* Have at least 80 posts - Yes
* Be extremely knowledgable of modding -Very
* Very active -Yes
* You would want representing the mod forums -Love too
* Respective, good english, well liked, etc -I have very good english, I'am respective, And I guess, I'am liked.

It also depends on how busy they are. For example, BSTRhino also runs his own forums (Warboards).

I nominate Slyence. I would also want to nominate BSTRhino, but I'll wait and see because I'm not sure if he has the time to moderate another forum in addition to his own.

I'm afraid BST won't be an option. You're absolutely right, hes perfect for it, however he's the administrator of Warboards.org and Starcraft.org, both very time consuming places.

Well, since BST is out. I vote for StealthyDeath... He has LOTS of experience also.

I would guess Slyence, he mods well, and he's very active. happy.gif

Good Luck on that, None of my mods are in the DLDB.

StealthyDeath isn't as active as we would like him to be.

DT_Battlecruiser has done the most work on getting the Mod section started, he is a DLDB Keeper which already gives a great advantage because he can easily work with DLDB Mod section and implement it with the Mod Forums.

* Have at least 80 posts - Way more than 80
* Be extremely knowledgable of modding - He wrote the Tutorial didn't he?
* Very active - Extremely
* You would want representing the mod forums - Yes
* Respective, good english, well liked, etc - He is already a well respective long-time member of SEN and I rarely can't understand his posts.

What better candidate do we have? He already has experience in Moderating.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Jordan on 2005-06-04 at 14:28:49
yes, but wouldnt he just be agravated with the database, keeping up with the files and etc? i doubt hed have time to mod.

BeeR, you are right about Stealthy. So, Yes, I think BK would be another Candidate.

My vote(s) go in order.

1. DT_BattleKruser
2. StealthyDeath
3. EZDay2
4. Sylence[MM]
5. PUNI(F)..... wink.gif

3-4 are tied in my opinion.

#5 is a joke....

Not really, I can manage the DLDB and All Forums just fine.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Slyence on 2005-06-04 at 14:57:49
Right, Anyway.

How many moderators are there going to be?

Just one person for all three? Or one for each modification forum?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by BeeR_KeG on 2005-06-04 at 14:59:36
Chances are it's either 1 or 2 to moderate all 3 forums. It's not smart having a different moderator for each forum.

I nominate DT_Battlekruser and Slyence(MM) for moderators of the Modding forums. Both of them meet the prerequisites extremely well, in my view. I'd nominate BSTRhino and StealthyDeath as well, but BSTRhino has other priorities (administrating Warboards.org and Starcraft.org) and StealthyDeath isn't really that active.

Yeah it's a pity all the gosu modders are too old and don't have time to do such menial tasks as mod SEN. I guess I could do it if you nomiated me.

If I was nominated, I know I could do it.

Yeah, sorry guys, I need to get things off my plate, not on it. I haven't even posted a news post on StarCraft.org in a week, and I haven't made a move for the Starchitects for about ten. That makes me feel bad actually. I hope you guys know when to stop taking on responsibility because I can tell you from experience that you should learn that early...

What I really like to see in a modder-ator (I didn't come up with that) is someone who's really willing to take the time to teach someone why you do things certain ways, not just how you do them, because only if people understand the different parts of StarCraft and how they fit together can they truly learn to manipulate it. That's why I encourage you guys to ask questions about these things, because I hope to see people turn into real modders who can think, not textbook modders. That's why the perfect modder-ator to me would be someone who would be most interested to teach people about the why, not just the how.

I wish I could name a definitive name right now who would be the right person from my point of view, but I can't right now. DT_Battlekruser has done the most for the community, my main criticism is that I wish in your tutorials and descriptions there was more of an explanation of reasoning on why things need to be done. I mean, the goal is that we want every modder to be able to stand on their own two feet in the end, without the need of another modder to do the thinking for them. If you added that to what you are doing now, you would be a good candidate for the job.
