What happened to the good old days when kids were spoiled with lollies and toys and more.

now-a-days it seems that most kids are not getting very spoiled, or getting free presents..

no more $10 when you need it, now kids have to do a whole lot of work to get a little bit of pocket money.

i have a few freinds who's parents wont even buy them necessities without them having to buy it with money theyve saved up.

we have child labor laws you know.



perhaps my view is wrong, or maybe the parents are just poor. what do you think?

Laws against child labor says you can't legally work. It doesn't say you get whatever you want right away by doing nothing. When you're paying your kids through a college, buying him/her a car, and putting food on the table for a family from day one of their life, let me know if you've got plenty of cash to fork over... and if you do, send me a check as well. If you want something you to work for it. I know getting stuff for doing nothing is very awesome, but it doesn't happen very often to most of us.

America is one of the most spoiled countries in the world.

i have no idea where you live but where I live kids are SOOOOOOOOO spoiled. This 5th grader had a nicer cell phone then I do and Im about to be a junier in highs school.

Ya I agree with Stars for this one. We have so many spoiled kids in america. The only problem is that I'm on the other end of the spectrum.

Spoiled kids are increasing. Your just getting older, and your parents want you to have more responsibility. Trust me, man, kids are getting brattier everyday.

I agree, anyone living in a first world country has no right to complain, you have clean water, a shower every day (some places every two days, conserving water is not North America's strong point) among many other nice things... one thing that comes to mind, the internet, a source of unlimited entertainment. If your parents give you everything you want (and it has a price tag on it), you're a prep.


... I'm finishing my second year of highschool and I don't have a cell phone, what the hell does a kid need a cell phone for... I understand if you got some lame summer job and earned it and you pay for your bills but if your parents gave that to you... wow.

Please close the topic. Kids are spoild not spoiled. In middle class families that is. Anybody who replies to this is spoiled because they have a computer to do it with. So the people that matter wont put in there 2 sense. So yeah close it.

Listen, you're the one who's spoiled if you think you can tell people what to do, while at the same time making half a dozen errors in your post. That's just rude. It's almost neccessary to have internet access today, because encyclopedias are no longer written, libraries are closing down, people need to get their information from somewhere. I'm not using captain incredibles computer, anyone who saw the computer specs thread in garbage knows that.

Our parents' moods can change because of the way we act now that we are old and have responsibilites. Being kind is just the first step.

Which cave have you been hiding in all these years? This whole continent is spoiled, if a kid doesn't get the new game he or she wants, here's what the kid spreads around school. "My dad is a ing @sshole, he never lets me get anything I want, I wish I had different parents."

But seriously, a kid who did that at my school would have no friends, and possibly a black eye if they didn't shut up when asked... I dunno, maybe it's cause I live in hardcore orleans.

Well neways, I think that any kid that is fat or chubby is spoiled. Their parents constantly throw at them more and more food and the kids eat so much... that's basically all they do; they dont excersize or play any sports. Soon they get obese and will start drooling when they hear the icecream truck roll by.

That's not true at all. Some people inherit obesity from their parents. For all you know, they might've been dieting for a few years, eating less than you everyday. The fact that someone's fat does NOT necessary mean that they eat a lot. Same thing goes the other way - skinny people doesn't necessary eat less.

Maybe I read that wrong, but why would underprivillaged kids be writing to some jerk in America who gives themselves a pat on the back for donating $1 to a charity... I don't even know how they would write with the lack of education they get there. You probably meant sending (which I still wouldn't get, because how would they read them). Am I the only one who doesn't think it would be fun to read about some kids tale of woe... Maybe I'm just sick.


I think if you're spoiled you shouldn't just be giving a little, you should be giving a lot back, because people who aren't give back too.

The problem with parents today is that they don't beat their children.

For me, getting grounded feels almost as bad as if you were beaten up

[justify]I have never been grounded before. I don't think my parents understand the concept of grounding. But I'm always good But they are still strict and things like that. I don't think I have gotten allowance for a long time. Last time I remember getting it was 1 dollar a week. One of the things I hate about some other kids is that...they get PAID by their parents to do chores in a house that THEY live in. You should not get paid to do it if you are part of it. It is like your parents paying you to do your homework. Sorry if some of you guys do get paid to do chores for your own house but... I've also got a friend who gets anything he wants if he gets at least 70% in anything. I would have almost everything if that was me [/justify]

Just get a job somewhere , then you can get paid more than a dollar for doing stuff
