Staredit Network -> Terrain -> Waterfall
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TDT-DaRkFiRe on 2005-06-10 at 11:48:41
Well it doesn't look perfect yet, but I made it because Ice isn't used alot anymore. And I sorta hoped that no-one has done this before. It was kinda hard because some things that standard waterfalls have, are not in the ice tileset. so doubt it will ever look perfect.

That would be the cursor. bleh.gif

Well the only thing i like about that waterfall are the rocks at the bottom. I cant tell where the fall starts.

its kinda nice, not perfect like u said, but then again its in ice, whats the wall traps supposed to be? i thought it looked a lil like and open area in the fall where u can see the cliff... the cliff doesnt look like much of a cliff though, its just a bunch of tree sprites covering up whatever terrains under there...

It doesn't seem like you tried too hard to get rid of blockiness, besides add 50+ tree sprites. Also, the Space Sprites you used at the top are kind of pointless, since they aren't even at the top of the waterfall and they make it look ugly.

Making it skinnier would probably help too, but that's my opinion. smile.gif

Well I edited it again... anyway, this is what came out.. im not really good at making things non-blocky.

i dont really feel a cliff like feeling. it just looks like a curved river that gets perfectly straight.

the cliffs are blocky and is that green line coming from the top a bridge?

That's actually really good. I've never seen terrain use in that way, though as you may note I'm quite new Here. Absolute awesomeness...

That's pretty mean... disgust.gif

It's not too bad, I sort of get a cliff feel for it. It sure looks a lot better than that first one though.

The newer one looks good smile.gif
Except I would use some sprites on the side of the water fall take away the blockyness of it
Good effects, awsome smile.gif

Wow! That looks just like a waterfall. All you need is some bullet sprites on the left side...

Pretty good. If i tried to make a water fall it would look so bad, everyone would Die!! pinch.gif

That was disturbing.

Anyways, I like the waterfall. It's pretty good and it's very difficult to create waterfalls in Ice... (I've tried). It's a shame because I really like Ice's water terrain.

Good job, 8.5/10!

Oh will thx for ur positive comments smile.gif The other guys had me convinced it sucked. Anyway, I was just using it for practice. Im now working on a mini-rpg, to practice stuff like roaming scarabs and cloacking weird stuff. After I get better at terrain and the triggers, I will start working at a bigger map. (I just thought something up with timetraveling) offtopic.gif

I don't really like it. I'm really sick of seeing waterfalls, it's just another cliche. I think the fact you put it on iceworld is cool though, so good job with that.

Anyways, come up with new stuff!

Well about the time traveling thing.. the first part, the introduction, (In wich u can play like a few minuts) is in front and around a ancient temple. Then u go time traveling to the future. Or the other way around, who knows. I think this is very possible with Badlands, since it has temple stuff, and roads and stuff. I also think its easyer to make them travel from the future to the past, becauset then the reaction is diffrent...
