I have a Dark Swarm system on a map I'm making, and one unit you can choose to spawn from the Swarm is a Spider Mine. This all works fine, but once the Mine is actually in the ground it won't come up to attack.
Now don't start to say "the player you're attacking isn't your enemy," because that's not true. Another choice is an Infested Terran, and this WILL follow the unit and attack it. All others unit attack the guys except the Spider Mine. Does it have it's own AI, and something about it is disabled when it's created by triggers?
Do the spider mines try to pop up?
Becayse if you stack spider mines ontop of each other then the spider mines will try and move and kill the unit but won't because they are stacked ontop of each other. But I don't think this is your case though.
No, they don't even move. And it's just 1 Spider Mine. Level 1 is Drones with 60 Life (Maybe Mine's only attack units attacking them, or a certain health) and when they get close to the mine the only thing that happens is the drones move out of the way (As if the mine popped out and they had to go around it, but it doesn't move).
Spider mins don't attack "floating units" like a drone.
...
I've never heard of that before. What are considered 'Floating Units' besides the Drone?
Well I am sure I missed some units but here are the ones I can think of right now. SCV, Probe, Drone, Archons, Vultures. And obviously all air units.
Hmm, that kind of sucks. Thanks for the info, though.

Dark archon too. And I think high templar.
Dark Archon would be obvious if it's also Archon. And it's not High Templar, I switched to them from Drones and the Mines work fine

.
So what is your alternitve Lethal?
Spider mines don't have AI, you'll need a enemy unit to let them move to the enemy.
I think he knows that. He thought they had a separate AI when it did not attack the drone but they are not supposed to attack drones.
Yeah, nothing wrong with the AI. It's just floating units, so you might wanna avoid them.
I'm prity sure he knew that. But its all good.

I already made a map of the moving spider mine the the DLDB at exerimental maps.

Most probably when you moved the mine you used Preserve trigger. The conditions kept being met so it constantly moved the Spider Mine to that location making it useless because it would always be moved there.
BeeR_KeG, the problem was solved a long time ago. His first level was a drone that is why the spider mine did not attack the drone. Therefore causing the problem because LethaL did not know spider miens don't attack "floating" units.
hmm, wierd spider mines actually attacked my drone and killed a wholebunch of em before however it was a meelee map.Maybe that glitch was fixed or somethin~
It is not a glitch, spidermines don't attack those kind of units. It probably attacked another unit and splashed your drones.
The problem was solved, so I'm closing this.
