Staredit Network -> Modding Assistance -> Arsenal vs use mape settings

Have you seen very simple thing:
when you edit wepons and upgrades in arsenal and run the mod with other type of games not use map setttings it is all as has been set in arsenal;
but when you play mod with use map setting sc:brood war ignores setting for time, minerals and others that are set with the scenario cool1.gif cool1.gif
So when i like to change the time of usig for example Matrix ( i mean that Matrix should be longer active) should i do it with arsenal ?? what option or can i change it in edytor??
I am making Hardcore Forcess ( a special force ) the mod is finally finished i can go back to map but is there ability to make spells active more longer?? helpsmilie.gif
A clock for ghost and writh cost per second 1 psio power can it be changed??? helpsmilie.gif

Sorry, but anything that can be changed in the editor and is not set to "Use Default" will overwrite anything you do in your mod.

a clock... umm I will guess you mean cloak and you just can't sepll.
psio power? do you mean energy?

I think making it so that cloak takes away one energy every second is hard coded into starcraft and therefore unchangeable.

However you can use Arsenal III to make a unit permentatly cloaked like a DT is.

Correct, It is deeply coded into Starcraft's mainstream.

Yes, You can do this, But the unit will have to have the ability to cloak first.

No you don't. You can make any unit cloak by setting it permanent cloak.

Okay, Since your so sure about this, I have attached a MPQ, That I did and just wen't to permanent cloak for a marine, Then just saved it into the MPQ. Now, You tell me if it crashes or not.

You cant just click Permanent Cloak for any original unit or it will crash. You will have to go through Iscripting to make the unit cloak.

You can only have unit's that originally cloak, Such as the ghost.

I just did it with an SCV. It didn't crash.

Could it be that some units just can't permanently cloak?

Every unit that I've set to Perma cloak worked, no crashing.
Then again, I haven't tried every unit.

Some unit's crash, And some unit's do. I will check out some of the unit's for evrey race to see what unit's cloak and what dont.

ADDITION:
Actually, I found the problem.

You can just select Permanent Cloak in Arsenal III, You must also select Cloakable in Arsenal III, That is why it was crashing.

I can't believe I forgot biggrin.gif

I never bother with the 'cloakable' and it works fine for me...
>_>
I think that it's either cloakable or spell-caster.
I set DA to perma-cloak, but not cloakable(unless it's default on), and it worked. Though, it stopped it from recharging its energy...

Maybe that's what you have to do, But it work's for either way now. I think once you select spell caster, It gives it the ability to once you add a button, And click it in starcraft, It casts it.
