Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-03-28 at 20:23:13
Our friends at Stormcoast have just brought out the next version of SCMdraft. I have to say, Scmdraft 2 v0.4.5 is THE map editor. Its now more user friendly, and I'm beginning to get WAY more comfortable with.

One of the things that most impressed me (it wasn't an accually mapping function, but I thought it was really cool) was this when you selected things:

Selecting a building brings a green wireframe in the lower left corner. It doesn't take much to impress me smile.gif

Sweetness! But I'm dying without a trigger editor in there somewhere. Any plans to put TrigEdit in the next release, SI?

I love how you can take map pictures... that alone makes it wonderful. I also find the terrain editor one of the BEST because it doesn't change back to diaganol anymore, and it goes from both diaganol and square FLAWLESSLY when compared to Starforge. This is very good terrain editor, good job Mr. Insanity.

A Trig Edit would be be nice but so far this new version looks to be damn good. Now I have a better tool to use happy.gif

You can try it with SC 1.10, I have no idea what will happen tho. it may even work if you dont use BW features.

That was the point of this thread... Introducing the next version...

Edit: btw I dled scmdraft v1.1 off your site, and it won't run. It gives me "File Access Denied" errors whenever I try to do anything (including exit the program...)

StarDraft 2 apparently uses the MPQ files. If you don't have BroodWar, then you don't have the MPQs, then you can't run SCMD:2.

LOL! It really needs that trigger editor/maker/whatever in there! I hated that in the old one and I will probably hate that in the new one. However, I do think that having no trigger editor beats the StarForge trigger editor (SUX puke.gif ) Well, That is about all I have to say! Time to DL.....

Wait, I do have something more to say, MAKE THE ONE WITH TRIGGERS, FOR GOD SAKES!! and god, save all the sheep on my farm! I know it doesn't sound like something most people would ask for, but I also have asked for a monkey, world peace, an alien to kill bush, penguins to take over the earth, one million people to riot in Russia (Sounds funny), World War III to start and end in less than a minute, twenty-seven cows to become fish, an alien gun, three fish eggs stuffed into a poor kids mouth, five thousand six hundred ninty seven moths to die, and about 100,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000,000 dollars...this is only a small part of the ever continuing list, so please, make a version with triggers, it is one small thing, right? PLEASE! You make me feel so sad, I sometimes wonder if my angle lost his/her wings (I can't see that guy/gal) sadangel.gif

My point was that scmdraft v1.10 doesn't work either...

BMP files are not allowed because they take up way more space then they should. Get photoshop or a BMP to JPG converter.

Find some sort of program that saves into jpg or png, (HERES ONE YOU CAN TRY!) and save. Now you can upload to the best mapping site in the universe. Thank you.
