i found this by accident, i was wanting the fire on a cloaked bunker to change constantly and i accidently found this...
Trigger |
Description: |
freezing fire |
|
Players: |
¤ player that owns the building on fire |
Conditions: |
¤ always |
Actions: |
¤ modify building hit points to 70%
|
¤ modify building hit points to 75%
|
¤ preserve |
u have to start out with the building only with a certain % of hit points, so its on fire in game, (but note that anything under 40 will kill it eventually), here i used 75% hit points on the building, u can use 45% (so there will be more fire) but u just have to change the 70% and 75% in the triggers to 40 and 45, and with more fire only a part of the fire is frozen... it also works with protoss buildings creating frozen blue fire, but still when its at 45% only about half of the fire is frozen...
Wow, thats really cool! Good find glytcher!
Im not sure what you could use it for, but it sounds cool. Somebody will find a use!
Good job.
In rpg'ish maps where you want to simulate time freezing or slowing down.
SWEET. On Zerg buildings you see blood just floating in mid air.
i never thought about trying zerg buildings, but ya they work too...
I think i get it lol. I suppose everytime the % is modified the injured animation starts over.
Is that what is happening? (lasy didn't look at map)
The higher the hp, the less "damage" aka animation there is. For example, 1% will have more fire then a 50% bunker. I think that's what they mean.
Yea this trigger is awsome. Not the most useful 1
but a very creative 1.
I would hope to see this in maps, somthing that would make sense. lol woo.
I stumbled across this awhile back. Basically you're using hypers(i believe). And the percent of building hp changes to quickly(because of how fast BW reads building hp) the animations for the other fire effects dont work. The only problem with this, is u'll need 4 or 5 sets of hyper triggs to make sure the fire NEVER MOVES. Because as you know hypers overlap something like 7 times(deathknight explained this) and then they freeze for 1 set of hyper triggs. So you'd need to have about 4 or more sets of hypers to make sure the flame NEVER moves. Otherwise the hyper would slow up and you'd see a change in the flame.
But all in all good find. No one posted it before, and i think it defenitely would be a good idea for a map with the ability to use Time as a power. it would easily simulate frozen space or frozen area. Good job.
Hmm... anyone else have any cool ideas for using this? I was thinking that the frozen zerg blood might be usable as blood splatters or something, but you either would have to cloak the building or hide it so just a bit of blood shows.
Another possible use could be as ice, with stacked protoss buildings.
idk how but BLACK HOLE lol
I think this trigger is really cool.... I wander the Dynasty is talking about.. Humm. What is this trigger used in a map for? Is it used for Rpg's and time froze and only the bunkers are frozen? humm i wonder if that made sense..
Well my need RPG includes time travelling, I might use it, but I dont have any idea in what way...
Good finding btw
Freezing fire and blood cool ill be using it just to make my game look cooler
wow that looks intresting. alot of people should use it. it would kinda give a boost in realistic.
I have a brilliant idea for this. When the 'narrator' wants to talk you(usually in movie maps) they freeze time. Voila!
Hey thats awesome, would be cool to see in a map
