I'm attempting to make a shelf in Starcraft. Now, I have a problem: I can't make the top shelf. In SCMDraft, when you place a sprite, it will be over all units.. however... when in Starcraft, I found out this display is incorrect, and it will look exactly the same as a units. So, is there any way to make a nonmodded shelf in starcraft?
On the left is Starcraft, on the right is SCMDraft 2.

Use regular turrets, not sprites... they're not even terrain. biggrin.gif

Um... the right one looks exactly like a pair of shelves to me... what's the problem with it? blink.gif

That's in SCMDraft 2. It looks like the left in game. Real turrets? Hmm? What? Everything but the top row is units.

Oh... you might want to edit your first post then... it says the opposite. That's why I was confused.

Yeah.. does anyone know how to get the top shelf right in game?

Use SF, it shows stacking more accurately.

It displays traps as active, so I can't use it. Anyone have any ideas?

Disable them.
Although being attacked by a shelf is cool. tongue.gif

In Starforge. I'm trying to get an accurate view at stacking units and sprites so i can make a shelf.. from the looks of it, I won't be able to do it with just floor traps. Well, someone else, if you want to, give it a shot. It's for an upcoming RPG, (I'm afraid I may cancel it, I'm losing interest in the current map).

Ya I tried doing it, and realized that the sprites for wall traps crash. I don't think you can do it with just traps. sad.gif

You need to move the units/sprites that you want on top to have a smaller Y coordinate. You can do this with Starforge, but it won't necessarily display it properly.

I didn't want it to be that tall. I guess if I remove the top layer... thanks.

Is it supposed to be able to able to hold stuff like Clokr's?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Wilhelm on 2005-06-23 at 10:11:24
They all hold stuff, it's just that it has to look like a shelf. I'm going with Clokr_'s method. But I'm not giving credit in a map. I came up with the idea and method to make a shelf, I might as well get credit. I did make one like that, but I was aiming for a different type of shelf.

err... I'm not sure if it'll work... I guess that editors lie to me too.

I've verified it using all units.. you can make a shelf like that. This gives me an idea.. a whole set including chairs, tables, shelves, etc. for a house interior. I've already made the house outside/inside with traps.

The powerups stay over the floor traps, but I think that the floor traps stay below anything, including the wall traps...
