Well, i've created a not really a system but an idea to save space if you really need it when making an item or potion shop. With this you scroll through the items/potions with your gateway and choose which you would like to purchase or sell. I did not however have time to make the purchase or sell triggers now display text about the item you are on. Just so you know the item under the cursor sprite is the one you're on. This would be really cool to see in an RPG and i'll ask T-virus if we can use it in ours (his map). Just an idea, peace.

Also, Credits to Rantent for the PWNAGE terrain, that's what pulls it all together.

Yeah that only works if all the items are units too. It's pretty cool though.

biggrin.gif Cool, it's like my original idea for that, but better!
Actually it would be weird if you substituted the units for something non real. Like constantly center veiw, and have the items be floating words, granted you'd need a string for each position they are in, but it would save units.

Thanks everyone for the positive feed back, I think the only con to this would be the unit usage waste, and if you want to worry about that then you should just go with Chu's method. I'd use this cause i like things more visual and the text is sorta ugly and boring to me. It would be nice if i could use men instead and order instead of move.

Great Idea... Useful in.. certain maps. If you need a large variety of units, this would be a potential pain in the ass to use though..

ADDITION:
Oops, I see that this has already been mentioned now... I didn't read the last posts... :-\

Its cool, but I wouldnt use it, to much hassle for a potion shop. I dont get why the templar and that other thing are there for though happy.gif

That's really cool, I think I might use this in my RPG, depending on if I have enough units or not. I'll give credits to TriggaMasta I guess.

Yeah, that terrain is just uber. I love your work, Rantent. smile.gif

Oh...sorry for reviving an old topic. I just noticed. closedeyes.gif

Really nice terrain. If I were to see this in and RPG I would be impressed (not sure it would make the RPG much more fun though).
I had a similar idea a while back for a dungeons and dragoons map I was going to make. It worked for DnD maps but not for RPGs.
The idea wasn't pratical becuase I had too many "items" and I had to use things like idependent starports, which aren't moveable. sad.gif
So I scrapped that idea.
Now I know what you meant when you were complaining about unit usage.
