Honourless Rpg-----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Defenitely one of the finer old-school rpg maps. This map actually has character development, party systems, and battle styles. There is also plenty of storyline to go around, it starts off very vivid and gets you hooked right away. And the world you are allowed to explore is VERY BROAD, and there's plenty of mystery and question to keep your tongue hanging out of your mouth. This map gave me a revitalized feeling for rpgs, if only there were more like this.
My Personal Rating:When the game started it looked as if it was a nooby map maker trying to do something big, do to the lack of color and correct speeding. But i soon discovered that was not the issue, the creator had avoided things such as that so that the player could be more intrested in story and gameplay. The way you explore your world and discover how to do things makes the game VERY INTRIUGING. Also there is a food system, i guessed that when you run out of energy(gas) you would collapse and lose from exhaustion. Aparently food was used to add to your energy(gas) and allow you to travel more efficiently.
The game also has a large cache of quests, the first most exciting one would be meeting your second party member, Silvanes a thief. He's defenitely very helpful and quite strong. This is when you start to work as a party whether then an adventurer. Other quests include things like hunting a witch, recovering an amulet, and thus forth(I DIED ON A MISSION TO SECURE THE COASTLINE
). The quests very well support the story and make things flow together nicely. I loved the quest system.
Oh yes, this game also has a great cache of music. The opening cutscene has outstanding climax music. And some of it loops throughout the entire game, setting an adventurous theme. Great use of music.
What rating do i give the map in numbers? Here's my personal rating.
Trigger Complexity: None, but they were used to their absolute fullest!
8/10 for showing us how great simple trigger systems can make a map.
Terrain: It was ok, simple doodads and tilesets used, but there were areas that gave a very distinctive aura and feel. Good enough I say.
6/10Storyline: In my eyes, the story follow-through in this rpg was perfect. A great example.
10/10 Fighting: The fighting is ok, better used then in those rpgs with 1 hit kills, or 9999 hp. He utilized each character with distinctive goods and bads, so some people are good at defending, others good for attacking. The fighting did enough for me in this rpg, nothing flashy or advanced.
7/10Character Development: Loved how the characters each had their own distinctive personalities and goals. It was fun unfolding the story in cutscene after cutscene. Even their modes of fighting made an impression on you about how the characters are. This is what mainly did it for amazement for me on this map.
10/10There are a few special things in this rpg that i don't want to reveal, but i will add them as additional rating points.
Overall this map averages out to a rating of:
9/10And that's darkblade's review on
