ElViajarDelTiempo[RPG]

QUOTE
In the year 2139, A leader and her kin, decide to steal a time machine.
They believed that in the year 389.BC there was a Kinslayer, who wielded an amulet which could dominate any form of life.
When they get to the year 389.BC, they find the Kinslayer. They try to steal his amulet, but fail.
With his powers, he forces them to travel back to the future, where they came from. They where forced to leave the time machine behind.
But there was one problem -- The kin leader got the date wrong. Now they ended up in the year 2479, a world devastated by nuclear weapons and a great war.
Walk upon a world in which there is no way back from, trying to find another time machine, in order to get back to your own time.

Players: 1
You will play Cabukahn, a member of the kin, In search of the time machine.

Spells: No

Food system: Yes (Done)

The food system, basically is, if you dont eat enough, you start walking slower.

[attachmentid=10846] [attachmentid=11252]

Set up your own hideout. (Done)

The possibility to build and decorate your own hideout. With some automatic decorations and stuff.

[attachmentid=10847] [attachmentid=10848]

Size: 256x256

Revive over time.

Secrets: Yes
Some stuff involving the food system, as in a Fishing Net. Also money and some other items.

Tileset: Badlands.
I choose badlands because it has both temple possibilities, and stuff like roads and shops. So its both futuristic and medieval.

[attachmentid=10849] [attachmentid=11130] [attachmentid=11056] [attachmentid=11057] [attachmentid=11230] [attachmentid=11231]

The map is also going to have various terrain. ( Alot of credit goes to Tuxedo's Terrain Palette. )

The powerup system consists of 20 levelups, upgrades and a computer companion system, wich allows you to hire a unit wich helps you in battle. Also a few items will allow you to get stronger.

Any other feedbacks or advice's are VERY welcome.

May I ask why the name is in Spanish? wink.gif

I also would like a good idea for the ''getting more powerful'' part of the RPG, Im tired of levelup's, evolves or upgrades.

I don't think there are any other ways to get stronger, besides using 'equipment' like weapons/armor that have certain effects.

Developing of your own base: How big is it allowed to be? What is your base for? Does it take any part in the story, forcing you to make one?

Well the name is in spanish, because it just looks best.

I didnt want it to be called ''time travelling rpg'' that just sound stupid. So I translated it into a couple of languages and this one looks best.

Mmh, maybe ill go with equiptment. Or maybe that u can get some units to follow you, fight with u? Combined with upgrades it can be fun I think. But its more about the story. Your not supposed to run around killing stuff.

Well about the base thing, after coming from the past, those dude's will want a base. Basicly, every base will be in a cave. You can just place every building where u want, it has nothing to do with the furher events in the game. Offcourse youll be forced to place something like barracks, you need for healing.

A companion to fight with you sounds like a decent idea. If there are few fights, you might be able to add a 'food' system, where you can feed your enemy and lure him to your team (Ex: Give a Zergling a steak and instead of fighting, it joins you).

As for the base, you could have an SCV spawn for you and have it build the buildings for you (It would be more realistic if you can see it visually being built over a period of time instead of just being placed there).

MNmh, yea I was thinking about something like that.

And add a timer. When the timer ends the buildings will be given to player 7(Ally comp) and become invincible..

Hey, the screenshots look awesome! The storyline sounds great too, and kind of original and made sense too. (Not like those cliche time-crisis maps).

However, if it was to involve futuristic gameplay, I'm not sure if 'spell's will fit the context. But already in the fantasy world with the amulet and stuff, I guess it doesn't really matter.

The food system sounds great! w00t.gif

Overall it's a great map, can't wait for it to come out!

I agree fully with Screwed. I really like the last two screenshots, those are pretty cool lookin'. Well have fun doing the rest of your map, and hope it comes out to a success. biggrin.gif

Thx for the positive replies everyone, I think I'll start working on the rest of the terrain today, since that is really holding me up.

hey, ElViajarDelTiempo doesn't make much sense. Lemme guess, google translator? tongue.gif

I guess that something like ElViajeDelTiempo or ElViajeEnElTiempo makes more sense.

Well I translated Time travelling in alot of languages with some translator machine I found on google. This one looked best. I didn't really figure it was supposed to make any sense. biggrin.gif

Please, no sarcasm. tongue.gif

It was brilliant work though. I escpecially liked the one where u combined grass rocks with normal rocks and make it so that grass was next to the water. Took me a while to figure out. smile.gif

..........

Nvm, offtopic.gif

ADDITION:
I finished the introduction today. Its pretty cool, altough a bit buggy with mutliple players. Still works fine tough.

I'm going to keep on posting in case somebody actually reads this stuff. huh.gif

Allright, I just finished the Kinslayers Temple, it wasnt really easy since it was on badlands. And I only made it for the introduction, so it only needed a part-view.

Here are some screenshots.

Its still blocky in same parts. I will fix that tomorrow, because now I can barely keep my eyes open.

Those new screenies that you have posted are awesome looking! biggrin.gif But I can see some blockiness on there, which I am sure that you have noticed. Good job.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by TDT-DaRkFiRe on 2005-07-01 at 04:52:24
Yes, I will try fixing them today. The point is, it isnt done yet. When u look at the rest its just one big pile of blockiness. I think I might finish the introduction today.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowWarrior on 2005-07-01 at 05:37:09
Yeah, I'll have to agree with slayer. The screenshots are really awesome looking. Anyway, good luck on it.

Allright, this is the end result.

[attachmentid=11053][attachmentid=11054][attachmentid=11055]

There is still some blockiness, but I dont really feel like removing it, since it is only for the introduction.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by ShadowWarrior on 2005-07-01 at 09:27:58
Well, since it's only for introduction... It's good enough.

Yes, alot better on eliminating most of the blockiness. biggrin.gif Looks awesome!

Well, I do use SCMDraft 2, but the terrain isnt bigger... is it?

ADDITION:
Allright, I think I need some advises. I've got the feeling my map is going the wrong way. I've decided to make the ''getting stronger system'' concist of upgrades and a computer buddy system. But I think the first 10 minutes of the map will be pretty lame, with not much to do. Any suggestions?
