ok, this is about getting beat out of a job or just trying to get one. why are americans so jobless, who can we live on like this!?!?!?!?

She said that indians work for less money compared to the average americian, therefore, the indian is hired over the americian since of the money difference. I'm not sure how much clearer you can get.

There's a couple reasons:

One, if you live in poverty, and your normal annual salary is less than 1 US dollar a day, then anything extra is a blessing.
Notice the word "outsourcing". That basically means that you're going outside local borders for extra resources whether it be continental or INTERcontinental.

Two, some asians who come over here during summer break will work for less pay than us Americans. It's the inherited humility.
Fortunately for you kooshtwo, some asian countries are being "westernized", if you considering asians becoming stupider to be a good thing.

FACT: Americans are generally unwilling to give up luxury.
FACT: Illegal immigrants will work more for less money, for a variety of reasons (not just the poverty thing, that's an oversimplification)
FACT: Companies stand to gain more by hiring people who work more for less.

Basically, your average american won't work as hard as a foreigner because, as far as I can tell, (s)he doesn't want to. The foreigners, however, have work ethics because either it's taught to them, or they need it, or whatever. They're willing to accept less money even after immigrating because getting a steady job is more important to them than getting paid a bunch. If they want money, they learn how to do things that they get paid well for (IT previously, electrical engineering, medicine, etc.) so that the base salary is higher. Finally, they learn how to do what they do well. Mediocrity is not accepted anywhere outside of the USA's borders. You've got to work for your education/salary/whatever, it's not handed to you.

All of this makes foreigners a better investment for a company to make, so they'll take the better qualified and cheaper employees over the american ones.

Koosh, you're not realizing things correctly.
Not all immigrants are illegal immigrants, not all people American companies hire work in this country!

There are three ways to show your error:
1) Those who are first or second generation immigrants (legal or illegal) have a work ethic from their country, either because they were taught these values or were needed for survival. Also, these people will work for less, as des stated above (post#8). Therefore, companies want less-payed better-working people. Who wouldn't?
For clarification why Des said "illegal immigrants" in his post:
He said this because the biggest problem, or at least the problem with the most propaganda, is that illegal foreigners from Mexico come and steal our jobs from us. But, they're not the only group that "takes" jobs from us. ANY immigrant whether legal or illegal will probably take one or two jobs from the "American society".
2) Many "foreigners" who are taking your job don't even have to be near you. They could be working on the opposite side of the country!
This is called "outsourcing". If you asked McDonalds and Starbucks about outsourcing, they would show you that they have their chain restaurants everywhere! This is what outsourcing is.
Therefore, people in Africa who do the same job as us get paid muc less. Why? In Africa, the average salary is $100 a year, so any extra jobs would help. Companies take advantage of this and pay them less than what you would pay us.

3) As I stated in gray earlier, ANY legal immigrant would take a job from us. Why? Well, they need to eat and have a house too! You don't expect them to be bums in New York do you? I mean, even the illegal immigrants get a job.

The only reason we're even whining about illegal immigrants is because it changes the flux of people entering and people leaving. More people causes more competition, and since ANY immigrant usually has A) Work Ethic or B) Supporting family back home, they will go to lower salaries than us Americans and be chosen.

Oh, and so I don't censor any part of your question:
It's simple really. Companies don't care if you're legal or illegal, they just care if you can work dirt cheap! Ah yes, the American work ethic in full bloom.

Are you calling Indians illegal immigrants? I'm not sure...but for the record...these are the peeps who live in India (I'm not sure if you are referring to the Native American slang)

Yesterday was my first day of my Job. I work at this grocery store which is in every respect just like Albertsons but is in Texas only. I had to work from 6:30 PM to 1:00 AM but it was pretty fun bagging people's groceries and rounding up all the shopping carts from the parking lot .
