Alright, first question:
How do I change gametypes?
As in, what I want to do is have the players start with something other than 50 minerals, main building, and 4 peons. Look at Zerg Civil War, for example, for what mod I forget.
Secondly, is it possible to change how many resources you get from mineral chunks and gas tanks?
As in, instead of getting 8 minerals every time an SCV returns to your Command Center, you get 10, or 5.
Also, is there anyway to change the speed at which a unit mines?
I tried speeding-up the animation with ICE, and it still took the same time. I tried giving the mining weapon a faster cooldown, and it still took the same time.
Lastly, is it possible to give mining range? I tried it and it didn't work...

Oh ya, another question I have, though this one is more of a, *ahem*, newb question.
What value do I change to what to give a unit scatter shots, like the DoomD Photon Cannon/Dragoon, TerranD Marine, etc.?
Change its 'missile property' to 'Halo (Spin)' so that the shots scatter. You will also want to give the weapon splash or the chance of it hitting something is almost nil.

I had some trouble adding new game types, they'd show up in the menu, but the triggers wouldn't run. (Victory/Defeat). Someone (I think StealthyDeath) told me that they only knew of one person who had done it.
To edit game types you need GotED, available at StormCoast Fortress.
