QUOTE
Prologue:
In these rivers... heroes are laid to rest.
The seven to have saved us from the dark.
They were fortold.
And here they lie.
But now, shall there be another?
There is no prophecy of an eighth.
The son of the seventh is a boy seeking to be remembered.
He wishes to be the eighth.
But he forgets.
There are more then seven in these rivers.
And none have been forgotten.
None shall ever be laid into the ground.
Lest their soul be taken by the dark things of this world.
Go boy, and there may be a marker in your honor.
Like your father.
We rest in your hands.
RPG Info:
Into The Dark Water surrounds the eventual death of every human, and the need to be remembered some how. You control the son of the seventh, and supposedly last, of the great heroes. Although this RPG has a heavy focus on story, there will be a good deal of quests, secrets, and minigames to keep you entertained.
Battle System:
The battle system, I hope, will be actual fun. There are two parts of a turn, which you plan out ahead of time. Until you plan out your move, the computer will not attack. Now, here is where it gets interesting: Once you have chosen a place to move towards and an attack, ability, or item, your unit will start movement towards that spot. Every time you leave the location, a tick is added to the clock, signaling that a bit of time has passed. Each time you use your weapon, a reload bar is set. Each tick will decrease the bar, and you will fire when it is at zero. Abilties use Energy, which will also increase with each tick. When you enter a battle, you will be placed in a fairly small location. If you move to the edges, you will leave the battle and will be placed back next to the enemy, and given a few seconds to move away. You will not be able to do this with boss battles, as usual.
Abilities:
These are general skills, some of which are battle exclusive. As of yet, there are none. Some of these are essential to completing quests, gathering items, and finding secrets. The first level abilities will all be gainable, however, once you gain a second level ability, you will confined to a type of ability, allowing you to only get maybe two level three abilities. Eventually this will define the way your character is used best in battle, so it's best to mold your character around one type. Certain types of equipment are better suited for specific classes.
