i just got it interested in terraining, and when i say just, i mean like 3 hours ago.
anyways, in that short time this is what ive done, its a bridge, with staircases leading down onto temple terrain, which goes down to the ground. i hope i didnt over do it with the bush sprites..

it was mainly because it is very hard to get the staircases to blend in with the temple terrain, so i had to cover up the bits of blockiness around the edges (grass and so-forth) in the first picture, you can still see 2 peices of blockiness at the top and bottom of the staircase.
the last one is something i did because i could. nothing special. just an ordinary watch tower.
P.S. Strike_girl is a friend that was very patient, and helped me test it. BIG thx

Rate out of 10 please. Remember, 1st terrain job

Hey .com I thought that they were very cool. I like both of those ideas, 10/10 for me.

With all of those little bushes, did you put them there to cover up major blockiness? lol Just wondering, some people do that.
The only problem with your terrain is the massive amount of sprites.
6/10
You could easily turn those bushes into trees, and use at least 1/5 of the amount of sprites you have now. 6/10
5/10 - It's okay, the problem is... there's too many sprites.
5.5/10
I think it has way too much sprites.
Well .com I think you have too many sprites, from everyone else that has posted. lol
Yo those aren't bad. I kidna like them. I wouldn't mind seeing that in a map. I like how you put the trees there. Well anyways for your First terrain i like it. Congrats.
Thanks for the comments guys

the only reaso i put so many sprites in is because as i said, on the staircase there is a ton of blockiness.
on the bridge i kept it so thick:
1) theyre ment to look like theyre overgrowing the old stone bridge.. thus the turok evolution kinda feel.
2) the bridge is from the water, just continued, and so on the edges there a like 2 half-squares of water.
so i had to cover it up.
thx anyways guys

ill do some more, and use less sprites next time

Yea it is pretty cool but i have to agree with everyone else too many sprites!
6.5
WAY too many bush-sprites. Besides the fact that they get repetetive, they look unrealisticaly dense in the first picture.
EDIT:

1) theyre ment to look like theyre overgrowing the old stone bridge.. thus the turok evolution kinda feel.
Then add some on the bridge itself, so that it looks like a few of the better-faring ones have managed to get up there. As it is, it gives me the impression that they, for no good reason, simply can't get up there.
Very nice. I'm surprised to see a fresh affect with two of the most overused extended terrain pieces: Temples and Bushes. Now all you need to do is find a way to tone down the sprite density.
8/10
i like it, but it could be fixed up with some work (not sure about the stair to temple though), add walls and replace the sprites, cuz u still want some bushed for the overgrowning old effect thing...
5.5/10
Theres a piece of terrain at the bottom of the stairs that will block the unit from going down. Although it is awesome in ambience, in terms of realistic use in a map... well, 6/10. Try blending first, and if you can't, THEN try sprites. Ruins edges with a cloaked unit to block could easily do the same.
The watchtower doesn't look very watchtowery-ish. 3.5/10
Well it isn't that new and special but it looks pretty good still. And like others said, too many of sprites make it look odd. If you changed the sprites to different ones it might seem more natural.
too many sprites i think his problem is that the bridge was with the water however that can be fixed and instead of that you could just not use the water edges and for the blending jus t use a pillar my rate 7/10
making just one rate from all of them the average is 6.8/10
6/10 just cause of the sprites
+ i can see 1 blocky tile between the stairs and the bridge in the 1st screen shot =)
!!!! LOTS OF SprITES!, when i first started terraining i didnt know about sprites, and even when i learnedabout them i didnt use THAT much.
5/10 looks ok tho
I'm ganna rate it a 5.5/10, for the simple fact it's very cluttered, it's nothing terribly creative, and the difficulty level is quite low. But nonetheless, it's good for starters, good job.
way too much sprites. For all we know its horrible.
It's not horrible. It just uses too many sprites. Otherwise it looks kind of cool. Good ambience too.
ok so we don't need 20 ppl to tell him he used too much sprites we just need 2 or 3 for a normal human ... what we need instead of that is tell him you used to much sprites here have this map it should give you some ideas
for the first try its really good, but next time on your other extended terrain use less sprites it makes the terrain look better i would rate this 7/10 because its your first try
The "tower" is moreso a "platform" or a "plateau."
