Here's Heim's latest update:
QUOTE(Heimdal)
Unfortunately, I haven't decided if I was joking or not, and a small twist last night has thrown another variable into the picture.
I feel like StarForge doesn't have much more to teach me. StarCraft is a dying game; maybe not playercount-wise, but more like worth-your-time-wise. I've definitely learned a hell of a lot over the past year, from the project and from all of you (and others that aren't here). In any case, if SI makes that deal with Blizzard, SCMDraft will definitely supercede StarForge sometime in the future, if it hasn't already. Omega's Trigger Happy editor is now out on Blizzforums, and SI released a newer version of SCMDraft. There doesn't need to be two super-powerful editors for a game over 6 years old. Maybe you guys will say you liked mine better, or that you like me better, and I truly appreciate that. If it weren't for all of you, I wouldn't have come this far.
In any case, some of my friends here at school (and myself) are itching to make a game of our own. I've already created the basic graphics, input, and networking engines for it. I don't want to release more details about it, but if you want to play it, then I'll stay in touch.
The other factor I mentioned earlier is...I might be working for Microsoft this summer. I'll be flying out to Seattle in the next few weeks for interviews. If I'm gone all summer, I'm not going to have much time to work on StarForge.
On the other hand, this wouldn't be a very funny April fools joke if I wasn't kidding...and a few of the reactions I've seen have been hilarious.
In any case...Don't hurt yourselves if I stop producing StarForge. Maybe you should think about making a change in your life too.
EDIT: I've just been informed that Omega releasing Trigger Happy was an April Fool's joke. Damn good one, too.
Sad, sad words...
