Because of the war in Iraq, fighting drug crimes, United States had to go in debt to keep everything going, what are your opinions, observations? How do you think it's going to effect your future? Expecially with the world's oil running out it's going to be really hard to get used to new standards and a lot of money will have to be spent to develop another good way of transportation. How do you think U.S. will pay off it's debts, and when?

First off, we've been in debt since the nation started.

Second, I believe if we was to legalize Marijuana, then half the money used for the "Drug Wars" would be used for other things.

Third, we could get out of debt if we went back to isolationalism, but we won't.

The US CAN'T pay off their debts because their money is backed up on their word, and the US Citizens.

Legalize, tax it, and make shit loads of money off it, plus, wouldn't you rather have a gentleman in a suit offering marijuana to your child instead of some black guy. Also, 60% of the marijuana imported to the United States had this happen to it, United States is giving free Marijuana killer to all south american and central american governments so they can stop the marijuana production, what happens is after the fields are sprayed all the people run out and rip the marijuana out of the ground which is still not fully grown, plus the weed killer is still on it and its very toxic, that means 60% of the marijuana you buy has not only an extra toxic chemical on it but also is not fully grown.

I think marijuana should be allowed for personal use. Anyone with over an ounce of marijuana should get in trouble in my opinion, or else everyone would be growing a lot of marijuana in their backyard or whatever.

Yeah. But if you have over an 8th in Idaho (I think) it's a Felony.... Not sure though, i'll have to research it more.

Having an ounce of shitty weed, then yeah, they should be killed!

Now, someone with an ounce of some daaaaaaaaaaaaamn good Kind Bud (Not Chron cause Chron is genetically altered, and it's not real weed like Kind Bud) should be praised! lol.

If the government pulled their head out of their ass, we wouldn't have that problem.....

I think they're just worried about protesters, i'm sure there would be hundreds of thousands of them blocking the highways or some other dumb stuff like that.

Marijuana should be prescription only. We would never legalize it for recreational purposes.

Besides, you only listed two reasons out of a thousand of why the United States is in debt.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by DT_Battlekruser on 2005-07-01 at 15:22:07
First of all, we CAN pay of our debt. It will probabally never happen.

Second, we are in debt 7.8 trillion dollars, not 1.3. This number was under 4 trillion before George W Bush was elected.

1. We wouldn't? We legalized cigarettes and alcohol which are more toxic in some cases.

2. I listed the MAIN 2 reasons why we are in debt.

I'm sorry, you're right, when i looked it up i didn't notice the little tag that said "(2001)" I would edit the description but i don't know how.

I'm confused about how a country can be 7.8 trillion dollars in debt, how the hell does that happen? We owe other countries that much right? If so, how come nothing has been done about it yet...

I read about the UCC thing, so if our money is backed up only by people's word then does that mean when we exchange US money for some other nations money it brings the nation further into debt because our money isn't really worth anything? Is that how it works?

although the war in Iraq certainly does not help, it has to do with our export : import ratio. We're taking in more than we're putting out. by A LOT. I need to go find my International Business notes for that...

Our money is backed by nothing at all. It's just paper with a number stamped on it.

Wow, don't know where you're from. Here I can get a pack anywhere from $2.20-$3.20 a pack. Usually Pall Mall are $2.20, they're the cheapest and Marlboro is the most expensive at about $3.20 a pack.

In the U.S. it's like $2.30+ per gallon, and I've heard on the news gasoline is outrageous over there in Europe (That's where Poland is, isn't it?)

Matters what state you live in, but i'm dead serious, $3.00 per gallon in poland is tops, and yes, Poland lies right in the middle of Europe.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by lonely_duck on 2005-07-01 at 18:11:37
the euro actually is worth more than the U.S. dollar and yes Poland is in Europe

Eh legalizing Marijuana wouldnt do that much there are so many other drugs (especially cocaine) plus i think they are holding marijuana back bacause of its medicinal purposes but im probably wrong. As for the national debt Kellimus yes the nation had a national debt in the beginning until Jefferson came in (he was the only president that had a national debt of 0.00) then everything went downhill after that...Lastly we should get Clinton back in the office at least he actually cared about the deficet.

deficet:$ 7,828,673,684,904.44

People loan the government money through bonds, and we pay them back with interest. We have the money on-hand but we have 7.8 trillion out on government bonds. We take out new loans with bonds to pay off the old bonds, adding to the debt. Then Bush generates a defecit in the budget, which adds to our debt more. ongoing prolem for the better part of 229 years. And guess who started major defecit spending? That really popular son of a bitch, Reagan.

But, as Clinton proved, it is possible to pay off the debt. But when every president in between the sensible ones quadruple the debt, it becomes hard to pay off.
