Staredit Network -> Serious Discussion -> Impossible Shapes and Sizez
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Shapechanger on 2005-07-02 at 02:01:21
Last night, I wasn't exactly asleep, but rather in between sleep and awake. I recall similar things happening like this before:

I can think in words, but not in pictures (can, but it becomes so confusing, read bolew) when I am in this state. Usually, I am very visual in my thinking so I automatically pin certain images to my word thoughts. In this state, anything visual is blown away and replaced by or transformed into a shape I can't fully conceive. What I mean by this is I have a very clear image of it, but if I attempt to apply it to reality I realize that the shape itself is dead impossible.

Another thing that happens in this state is 'size echoes'. What I mean is whenever I think of anything visual (once again) it is echoed against the back of my mind smaller and smaller or larger and larger until it becomes too large to comprehend or vice versa (Into infinity?). It usually becomes so confusing that I actually get a headache from it.

Eventually, the effect simply fades away, becoming less and less confusing, such as the shapes dissapearing before they get too large or too small and the shapes become more sensible.

I don't know why or how what is satated above happens, but it only occurs about once every two months and I am wondering if there is any explanation for it. I would also love to know if anyone else has similar experiences or variations of it.

As for the shapes, I can still see then in my mind, but there is no way I can think of the explain them in words...
Nearing the end, they become more like incomplete 3D renderings (any programmer like me that understand this?) Like, looked at from a certain angle they are invisible but from any other angel are perfectly solid.

Only thing I can think of it as meaning is that your mind has atleast one of the traits that I consider to be "good", but that doesn't really mean anything, does it?

1.) Don't take drugs or any sort of alcohol before you sleep.

I don't think this "special" trait provides any sort of advantage or disadvantage, besides typical restless nights.

It isn't infinite. It ends where you stop comprehending. tongue.gif

I think I've done something like this. Like zoning out and stuff and crossing your eyes.

A few days ago when I was sitting in the dentist's chair I just started at the big rectangular lights up there in the ceiling for a while when I was waiting, and I saw weird things. Like losing focus on what I was seeing.

I'm not sure accusing me of drug use is suited for the 'Serious Discusion' topic...

Why do you come on here and flame everyone? You have no right to do so. I have already reported you, and don't tempt me to do it again. What you are doing is gloating our immaturity and ignorance, and we don't like fools here in the forum (even though it is filled up with fools, including myself)

Seriously, Grow Up

Please, don't make me resort to violence.....

Lol.

On Topic

I have no clue what you are talking about. How you described it to me, just confused the hell out of me. Could you try to explain better? That would be much help.
