A LOT OF TRIGGERING
in Xuru, theres 3 codes
1 code is your current level. So you gotta make 50 triggers for 50 lvls for that one code. and you gotta do the same for every other kind of code like gold etc. The guy who made Xuru spent a lot of time on it...

I bet it would be possible to make a unit-encoding method similar to megaman pretty easily...

This is how this kind of thing is done:
You make an area of options (a "table" sort of thing)
Certain areas of it mean certain things. (Items, money, health?, levels, experience, etc.)
The bigger the area, the more triggering/coding AND the more you can do with it.
