last night i get into a light disscution with my "roommate" about what goes around comes around. i think that it was made up by a parent to make a kid behave. i don't think that it EVER happens. whats your OPINIONS?

When something wrong has been done to me, I always like to think what goes around comes around and not bother with it anymore.

It helps relieve stress and to help not worry about things, just remember if someone has done something unjust to you, just think what goes around comes around.

What comes around goes around, doesn't that sort of imply that every action has an opposite but equal reaction.... kinda?

I dunno, i may be wrong

Okay, first:
You rob a store, you go to jail. Because you're in jail, you don't in money. So both of you (You and teh store) lost money.
Second:
This man once robbed a docter, but suddenly one day he was struck by lightning and branded with that same docter's initials. Even more strange? He was revived and saved by that very same docter. (True story)

So yeah, I think it's true. What happens when a guy flames on these board, he gets banned by the admins. It kinda comes around.

ANother odd one:
I was picthed a baseball
Somehow, I ended up with the ball in my hands, and the bat flew at the (much) bigger pitcher. Well, the way it came around was that I got chased through half the town by a crazed idiot with a baseball bat.
So yeah, I think it's true.

Take the guy who invented the tommy gun:
He invented an awesome automatic
He later was ashamed because it wasn't used for good purposes.

Yeah, that happens to me all the time. I am nice to all these girls, and they just toy with my head.

But I don't think that it happens in the long run either cause of this reason:

I got in trouble by being narced out for something. And now the narc is spreading lies about me to my "best friends" and now they are turned against me. This has been going on for about 3-5 months now. So, I don't believe in that shit.

But who knows?

Sometimes it will, sometimes it won't.
Depends entirely on the situation.

I just like to believe if the other person's attitude caused them to do something unjust, then if they continue to be that way, then it will eventually come back to them because they keep acting like a jackass smile.gif

I think its a concept developed by civilized societies to keep people in line. If people don't have a way of pretending the bad things that happen to them have a way of returning back to those who caused them, then it's much harder to accept them when they occur.

When people can't accept these things, they will try to find another way of controlling it by getting revenge... which just makes things worse. If no one was willing to compromise and accept bad things when they come around, society would not be able to function.

I believe it's also called Karma.

I find it calming to believe in it.

I kinda believe in karma. Here's something I heard. You see a bug walking and you just want to step on it for the heck of it. But some people do give sympathy to a bug saying if you were a bug in the next lifetime would you want someone to squish you? It's pretty much based on a person's morality.

I think Earth is a good example of what comes around goes around; when the earth comes around the sun, it goes around the sun w00t.gif

oh my god. i would never have seen the day that mankind would became this stupid. what goes around comes around.....it is not needed for a hole civlization to function. it hase nothing to do with the earth spinning. and it sure as hell dosnt have anything to do with monopoly. all it is, is a saying made up way back in the day. and it has stuck around this long. thats all it is.

What does this have to do with the topic? Seriously, quit spamming or flamming the forum.

On Topic
"What comes around, goes around" is partially true, only if Karma allows it. Which right now, she is slacking on her job.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2005-07-05 at 13:17:10
rofl, I thought you said "only if Kame allows it" and I was like eh??? Divine Powers?! WEEEEE

anyways, I find that term rather stupid; its like we need to be threatened to be a nice person. Its tragic more than stupid, I guess.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Chef on 2005-07-05 at 13:33:04
I interpet it like this.
What goes around comes around.

-Piss someone off, they'll come back for revenge.
ex: Punch someone in the face, they'll try to hurt you

-Do something bad, it'll come back and bite you in the ass
ex: Pollute a lake, no more fish to eat.

It's a little like the "golden rule" (Do unto others as you would have done unto you) only with fewer loop holes.

Basically, a simple rule for helping you predict reactions. It's not flawless, it's not profound, but it's easy to remember when you need it.

Then answer this.

There is a narc that narcs everyone out. He is also a Confidential Informent (He works with the cops)

How is he going to have it come back at him, when everyone that could get him in trouble, won't do it cause he works for them?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kame on 2005-07-05 at 13:46:18
He'd probably have a lot less friends, or he'd realize the boundries between work and play and not cross them, so there would be no consequences.

Narc is a durogatory term, anyways. Its his job, like you said, and if he stopped working he'd lose his job, and if he lived in America he probably wouldn't be able to find another one.
