Staredit Network -> Portal News -> More Robotics pictures!

Here we go again! This is the last addition to our quick and dirty picture of me meeting Spaceboy2000. This one has more random pictures than the other one, because I was just having fun most of today. Spaceboy2000 may be making a couple of additions, but other than that, this is it!

This is my failed picture of Spaceboys robot in action. As you can see, it went behind a goal when I took the picture. Everything happens too fast.

This would be forum regular Spaceboy2000. I took a quick up close picture for no reason. Remember, its Rightclick > Set as wallpaper.

Spaceboy2000 was attempting to take a picture of me as revenge for the picture I took of him. For some reason, I turned on my camera, took a picture of him in the same pose. It takes him hours to take a picture lol.

Forum regular Spaceboy2000 (left) and Webmaster Yoshi da Sniper (right) get together for another picture. Look! Spaceboy actually looking at the camera!

This is a picture of the whole playing field that me and Spaceboy played on.

Spaceboy left, so I started taking random pictures. This is a picture of Phoebe that she was unprepared for (shes going to kill me for this, if Staredit Network is down in a couple of days, you may start mourning for me).

These are some girls that were sitting behind me! Make sure you laugh, so THEY TOO kill me later.

This picture is for Volka, who thought the glasses I had around my neck were sunglasses. These in this picture are REALLY sunglasses wink.gif.

On another note, our team managed to score the highest score in one game at the compitition, which was 150 points. Spaceboy2000s team scored the lowest score with 2 functional robotics, which was 0 points. He too, will kill me for this.

More things:
  • We actually found someone in the pit area (where robots are repaired/stored) who was playing Starcraft. Wasn't that ironic?
  • Phoebe asked, "Who is the teacher sitting beside me?" it was actually the Principal of our school. (I'm dead double time)
  • Yoshis team is a rookie team, and pulled out 6 offical awards total so far both compititions. This is bascially unheard of.
I'm a wanted man. Later!

Otherwise, nice!

HEY!

Okay, the time we score 0 on was because our teammate gave us two penalties, and that our robot flipped early on in the game.

We went to the quarter finals, and lost because our radio controls were dead. Yoshi's team didn't even make it to the quarter finals, though it was because of crappy programming that wasn't Yoshi's fault.

I have a crap load of pictures that I'm sending to Yoshi right now.

In conclusion, we both didn't even end up in the semi-final, much less the final, so, back for next year!

Aren't you people going to Atlanta though, Spaceboy?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Yoshi da Sniper on 2004-04-03 at 21:46:01
No they aren't, neither am I.

Regardless that it was proven that I was the one that programmed everything and knows the programming, Im not going either. They're taking people who did nothing.

Our robotics team is full of it.

Don't feel too sad.... blame it on the teacher..... ranting.gif get mad at him for doing that.....

Hmm, just a clarification that I just got from one of the guys there, the radio controls did not fail! Yoshi, you might remember one of our team member jumping right back into the field and fixed something and then jump right back out with a judge yelling at him. Apparently, the radio receiver was connected to the wrong port, so he switched it to the right port by jumping in. But the judges deemed it...uh...I guess...unsafe, or something like that, so they disqualified us. That's why the robot wouldn't move after the autonomous mode.

This sucks.

Juat the match. We still went throuh autonomous mode, but the robot was then left as an obstacle there. At a better note, our shooter was passed on balls from the other team, and we scored every single one that game, though it was a futile gesture.

I used a blue hairspray, because my team color is blue.

Nifty. I watched a robotics competition the other day. It wasn't that good though. Kinda on the level that I would have probably won had I entered with anything that I'd actually prebuilt for the competition...

Actually, the robot are harder to build than it looks.

Mainly because of all the constraints that they put on us, like you can only buy from a small selection of stores, and stuff like that.

I say they should just let us build whatever we want with whatever we need. Maybe a price constraint on the materials, but that should be all. I mean, come on, we're having a har enough time to keep the robot under 130 pounds!
