I'm not talking about friendships. I'm talking about dating someone over the internet. With eHarmony, and chat and forums, do you think its likely?
My friend found a girl he liked over the internet. He visited her a couple of weeks ago (she lives a few states away) and they still loves each other. Just my two cents: It was at one point in time it was a crazy idea to not have an arranged marriage.
Yeah, but I bet 50% of them are registered sex offenders. I've heard quite a few stories of these 14 year old girls having online relationship with guys that are actually 30-40.
I chose undecided. I have never used it, or know of anyone that has. I just found the chick i'm in love with on Pogo.com's Poppit. We would talk and sometimes even "cyber" (I dunno what you would call it. I would be talking and the next thing I know she does *jumps on lap*. So I went along with it, lol)
But what made me really start to fall for her, is the poems she wrote about her for me. I didn't even know she liked me like that so.....
I dunno. I guess you can find love on eHarmony or all those others, I dunno.
I'm perfectly fine with my beautifull Oraya......
No, Usually a girl wants to hook up with me over the internet because I tell her I'm a Wrestler and I bench 250 pounds, and I'm 18 years old, when in reality I'm 220 pounds, have 36C man boobs and I don't shave my pubic region. So Anyway, she wants to go out, so I tell OK if she cybers with me, so then she sends me a few naked pictures that I can save up for later

, tell her my

is flaccid and can't get it up so no cyber, and I log off.

You're a twisted individual.....
I don't shave my pubic region either. Is there something wrong with that?
If I shave down there, it will become an even bigger, jungle of love.
LOL!!
This "girl" you are dating online could be an old sex offender pervert.

Uh..... Do old sex offenders have 16 year old voices?
No, that's what I thought. Fool.... Lol.
And don't say that they paid some chick to do that either, cause her voice fits her pictures.
Oh well if they have voice options, then yea.
But if it's an internet dating where you just randomly chat with someone on AIM or MSN Messenger without the mic, then you just never know

While I feel no sympathy for anyone that falls for a prank or some such(my friend, 13, was pretending to be a 14-year-old female. It started as, I believe, a sarcastic remark, but the guy was an idiot, I think you can see where that went), I also believe that an internet relationship can be as fulfilling or whatever you want as an in-person one.
I consider my online friends as good friends as I do the people I know in person.

Do you take internet relationships seriously?
No, though I voted "undecided" before I actualy read the poll question.
But that's only because I can't imagine myself "loving" someone else by either my or most other's definitions, and I don't really plan on having a relationship.
I was listening to the radio once and this one woman called in and was talking about how she just moved in to texas from illinous just to meet up and live with her internet boyfriend. It's kinda freaky sometimes
If you have to meet a girl over the internet, I don't see you ever being able to stay in a relationship.
That's assuming she isn't a 55 year old man.
If that was directed to me, I don't have to meet a chick online, I just do. Then I don't know how, but she fell in love with me. It's not my fault I act the same way on the internet as I do in real life....
I think internet relationships would be awkward because they aren't really common. You also can't really see the person you have having the relationship with in person and like actually date them, which I think would be a big aspect. Maybe meeting people online, then actually visiting them in person would work, but I don't think a longterm purely internet relationship would work out too well.
With internet dating, you can't really touch these people. You can cyber with them but not have real intercourse or whatever
I agree with you on that Devilesk. That is why i'm going to see her before my college starts. And we just got done talking with voice chat (a few random things, most of it was typed, lol. I sang a bunch of Pink Floyd though

And she sang, too.) and sounds just like the pictures look

Anyways. You have to eventually meet the person if you want to keep "Dating" them. We aren't actually dating either. I told her I want to marry her in about 3-4 years and she says she want's to, too. But 3-4 years is a long ways away

I think cybering wouldn't really be very intimate, I think it would actually be very lame. How could anyone gain pleasure from cybering...

To tell you the truth, it is lame lol. But if you can imagine the person actually doing the stuff to you, then it is quite pleasurable. I imagine us doing those things with eachother (Which we probibly will be doing when I go and see her

)
Cybering is seriously

ed up. This is one of those things that I can't actually use logic to support, but the idea of having fake sex over the internet is about as lame as it gets.
Please don't try to evade our swearing filters
Thank you
~KameWhen you cyber you just basically talk. In person-to-person relationships that is also what you would do with your girlfriend/boyfriend. But of course, with cybering you cant touch your partner

The most scary part is that the girl could be a boy =/
Or even worse...

Oh the horror
But being serious, there are some guys who pretend to be chicks. Even on starcraft, in my profile I put F so all the nerds come up to me and are like "HAY WANNA CYBORRR IM s0 1337!!1!!1" and then you tell them things like ".me announces that she's a HE and [name] was trying to cyber with a man!" its great entertainment

Great entertainment, for a little boy, such as yourself.... Heh

Internet relationships (Going out) is dumb. But having relationships such as being friends online with chicks, isn't bad. Because once you get to know them, maybe you could go visit them, or they could visit you.
It's always good to have friends.
Never had one, probably never wil, but i do know a friend of mine(Josh) he was friends with this girl over the internet, after a year and a half he asked her to marry him
yes marry(NO LIE!!!) it's been 6 months and they still plan on getting married hes heading head to alcapolco(or how ever you spell it/where she lives) to see here and spend the next 2 months with her then get married.
I said yes because serious relationships could happen over the internet. But for internet sex, no. Internet sex is so nothing compared to real sex. It's not even in the same league. I think solo missions are more bragable than multiplayer missions online. If you know what I'm saying.
