wow heh, well, .wav files are basicly sound files, u get them on your own through whatever methods are available to you... u add them by using the sounds editor in StarEdit, u can then use these WAVs as sounds in ur maps (by playing them using triggers, specificly, the PlayWav action)... if u manage to get that down, and if u have or use StarForge, u can actually use existing game sounds instead of importing your own WAVs in the StarForge Sounds Editor (or manager, whatever its called)... this keeps the size of your map down since ur not adding anything new, and those sounds are also much more refined than what you'd normally find. If you do import your own sounds, keep in mind that doing so will increase the size of your map dramatically, and its very easy to reach a point where the map will be too big to download over battle.net...

don't use starforge for importing sounds, i would use scmdraft2 or xtra or maybe even staredit, its easier and u can actually play the sounds.

1st off, as to easier, starforge's editor is fairly simple, and u can play the sounds there as well. on SCXE and the standard StarEdit, u cannot use MPQ files, which is why i said use starforge. SCMDraft allows u to use the MPQ sound files (i just opened it up), but starforge has a far more organized system for finding the files u want...

i tried uploading my 'Mscomctl.ocx', system here didnt let me though, try looking around for one, not sure where you'd find it, sorry =/

well as i said, staredit and SCXE both work fine, but they dont allow u to import from MPQ, so u need to import ur own sounds, SF and SCMDraft do, but both are slightly more complicated (due to the ability to import MPQs), but SF is more organized...

Download the common controls for StarForge.
http://www.staredit.net/index.php?download=368

The advanced editors you can use to use sounds from the game:
StarForge (good for triggers, terrain buggy, great for unit and location (re-)placement)
SCMDraft (very good for terrain, great for triggers but can be buggy)

Less advanced editors do not let you use ingame sounds, but are good for low-tech importing of sounds you made on your own:
Starcraft X-tra Editor (enchanced StarEdit, stable, quirky in some places)
StarEdit

Use SCMDRAFT for importing the MPQ's or WAVS... I suggest doing most of your terrain layout in SCMDRAFT2 as well and In Xtra You shoudl do your triggers jsut beacuse I dont think you want to learn SF triggers... Only use SF for the player colors if you need to at your current stage

SCMDraft2 can also do player colors...

Gothikfreek, please, please, please, learn how to use a computer before you learn how to map.
