is it me.. or do Truck drivers have the biggest attitude on the road? the other day, im driving down a main street. i stop at a light, the light turns green, and a truck driver decides to jump the red light, i have to slam the brakes on and he honks his horn at me?!. then about 10 mins later, a 4-way stop. i've counted. its my right of way.. big friggin black F-250 dude on a cellphone keeps going when im in the middle of the intersection, i punch the horn , he finally stops after he's in the intersection too, i speed up and get out the way...

Now, is there an actual reason behind all this? hm?. does a guy truck driver compensate for having small Penorb? [or for chicks, having a penorb]

and do most of them just buy one just drive around town, because to me thats pretty pointless, if its for work FINE!. if you need a truck to haul around stuff [and do it often] FINE!. but other than that, why waste all your money to fill up a huge gas guzzling truck when you can have a nice car that has just as much space [apart from the actual back end that a truck has]

please answer or something!

I think this belongs in Mooze Zone. Other then that, I can't say, since I don't/can't drive.

My personal experience has generally been that people buy trucks because they think it's a sign of prestige (yes, only in America!). They also seem to think that as their vehicles are larger, so is their importance and, well, they get to do whatever the Hell they want. At first I thought you meant "truckers" but now I see you mean "inbred fools that liveth by the redneck code." My advice to you: get used to it... no matter how much it sucks.

I haven't really noticed much attitude from truckers here. They act like regular drivers that follow the rules and stuff. Or maybe because you can call their compagnie about their horrible driving...

Truck drivers think their all big and bad just cuz their in a huge truck. They annoye me. crazy.gif

Are you talking about Truck Drivers? Or people who drive Trucks (Dodge, GMC, Chevrolete ,ect...)

Truck Drivers are essential to the United States, and usually aren't dumb, and follow all the rules of the road.

People who drive Trucks have to compensate for small peters.

LoL! I personally don't have anything against truck drivers, they're known as the best drivers on the road, of course there's going to be people of any kind that will piss you off, it's just a coincedince that they drive trucks.

Damn those Wendy's fools!! Didn't give me no motha*uckin' spoon!

Anyways.

My dad owns a trucking compy (with his partner) and Truckers are the safest drivers, with the exception of a couple.

Wow!. someone agrees with me! Gj.

But seriously, do they get more road raged which turns them into the arrogant trucker i hate?. i think they should make trucks as hard to get as drivers licenses... you know like a trucks license or something [for the GMC, ford, etc types] that way only the people that really need a truck can get it. dont get me wrong, if you hunt it sure is helpful having a 4x4... but how often do these people do just that? [or other related activities] Plus it doesnt help that i live in Central Alberta [ie, white mans land...]which is prolly why im all arsy bout the subject disgust.gif

I think people think that you're talking about people that drive trucks for companies to move stuff, as opposed to idiots in trucks that they don't need and cost more money than they're worth, what you're talking about.

I agree with him, even though I don't drive. I usually sit in the passenger seats and realize all these mistakes people do while driving (heh thats why no one likes to be in the car with meh sad.gif). I think its because they feel they have a bigger car so they have more rights than you. A car isn't a reason to be mr. big and buff, especially since many truck drivers are skinny little rich boys mad.gif

I know a couple of truck drivers personally and I work with a lot of them. They are the best drivers out there. Sure you are bound to go a bit over the line, but that's becasue you have been driving non-stop for over 5 hours. I'd like to see you drive as good as you usually do after driving for over 5 hours.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by wesmic da pimp on 2005-07-13 at 13:37:28
Not to mention it is much more difficult to drive trucks (semi-trucks in particular) because they have much wider turns and longer vehicles.

if they HAVE to drive a truck for a company thats alright, but im actually talking bout the idiots that dont need them. its rubbish that they need a truck to make them feel better bout themselves... i mean, i drive a crumby ford taurus, and its just as fine. it gets me from point a to b. so im happy.

you know, that actually could be the main reason...skinny rich white man in huge truck.. makes sence.

..., lets split this up into catagories.., The TRUCK drivers im complaining bout'. are the ones that compensate for many things smile.gif, and have attitudes on the road.

the SEMI drivers i dont have a problem with, they drive for 5 hours to transport stuff and get paid for it... THIS ISNT THE PROBLEM.

WE ARE NOT TALKING BOUT SEMI DRIVERS!.. WE'RE TALKING ABOUT TRUCK DRIVERS

Another example of people not reading all the posts and paying dearly for it. And apparently not understanding the first post...

I dont even understand why people buy a truck when they don't use it. I know 2 people who went out and bought $300-800 cars (sedans) and they can still get to work, go to school, and get to parties and what not. I can understand if maybe truck drivers need to carry large objects with them often, but how often do you need to move a large tv or bed from point a to point b? Usually all I see in a truck's cargo space (can't think of a better word) is some lumber, which would fit in any other car.

About a year ago we had to transport about 45 15 foot iron pipes, that were rusty and covered in god knows what. Anyway, we had to use a truck for that, I don't think you could or would want to transport those in a different car.
I hate the huge trucks though, there is really no point to haveing a truck to carry large things if the truck is 3 feet off the ground. The big dodge behemoths are just giving room for the fatter americans.
There attitudes aren't much different from the guy in the little Geo, but they can express theirs on the road.

Yea, truck drivers are probably the best drivers out there. They have to drive for hours and hours and they are also driving huge 18 wheelers. Any accident could be catastrophic and they have to be great at driving. I admire their driving ability smile.gif But it's always best to keep your distance because they can't exactly see what's behind them.

I believe there was an episode of the Simpsons where Homer drove an 18 wheeler and there was the "box" thing that drove for them lol.

What do truckers have to do with idiots that have excessively large trucks?

They are truck drivers. People who drive pickup trucks are mostly rednecks biggrin.gif

They both drive trucks, but truckers are a special group of people-who-drive-trucks.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by MapUnprotector on 2005-07-13 at 20:55:55
Yea, plus they have to be qualified to drive such a big truck right and be very good at driving right? Anyone can buy a dodge truck.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by EzDay281 on 2005-07-13 at 23:38:13
That having to be qualified is part of what makes them a "special group"...
>_>
Report, edit, etc...Posted by AboJ_JD on 2005-07-14 at 13:16:30
Okay, i think this rant is over... Devilesk... GOD! pinch.gif nevermind...

i think we have all come to the conclusion that people that drive [dodge, chevorlet, ford, etc trucks] trucks are seriously compensating, they have an attitude, there rednecks that enjoy shooting small animals with with the family, and they smell like skunk.

and that Semi Drivers are yes, indeed safe because they drive for x ammount of hours and they need to be qualified.

And that people are fools for not reading the 1st post correctly. [with a few exceptions]

Addition: good to hear that some people actually have the same problem with Truck drivers as i do wink.gif
