You realize that "Christian" and "christian" carry different connotations right? Because you used the wrong one...

As a name its different. The lowercase is what our country is. The United States is a christian country. However, very few Americans are actually Christian, which means to follow Jesus Christ (hence the name).

By saying it is a "Christian" holiday, you imply that it is a direct result of Jesus, and while this is partially true, the holiday itself has nothing to do with Jesus. Its like Christmas.

As a safeguard, I tend to de-capitalize all uses of "christian" because almost all of them refer to the name, not the actual principles...

Nothing important, just ramblings...

Actually, Easter is to Christianity a very important day because it was when Jesus rose from the dead after being dead for 3 days. Christmas was when He was born. You will see one way or another how the past has influenced these days through religion. I won't deny I'm a Christian It is offensive if I just wrote, catholic, muslim, just as I write american, jew, mexican... You can refer it to a regular holiday, but just spell it with a "C". Even it's a name, it's still capitalized tongue.gif
