I have experimented (using star forge) with over lapping text for units and force/map name. I have little luck, allthough ive got it to work once, is there a guide or somthing to help making these effects turn out correctly.
ANd i have done a search and explored the tutorial section and found nothing
If you read the tutorials it should work. You just gotta be patient and test it often. Every little space on the string counts.
there is a tutorial on overlapping text, please look harder.
There is an easier way to do it. If you only use one overlapping character, Starforge will preview it correctly.
Write some text, then an align-right character, then some more text and a bunch of spaces after it.
Well i didn't know Starforge could do that. I get Xtra editor overlaps done in 1 shot. I find it easier on Xtra. I would recommend it on Xtra for some things. Use starforge for everything else.
Hmm, I have done plenty of experimenting with overlaps, and Rexy's way doesn't need the overlap back overlap front stuff, they can be the same overlap character.
Also, if it is one of those few words that doesn't work for the overlapping tricks that have been stated. There are a few more tricks that work, most of the time.
[][Overlap] [Text][][Overlap][][Text][]
Adding spaces in one of the [] areas, will do the same thing as placing them in the other place.
One space in the [] area equals about 2 spaces in the [] area.
If you place spaces before or after the overlap, [] [] they will equal the same thing.
Adding more overlaps in the overlap areas produce effects that can vary.
One front overlap = about twice the movement of one back overlap.
Basically these tricks are relative and differenciate slightly depending on the size of the words.
