I have an idea for a map, although it would require me knowing how to subtract health with triggers instead of units doing damage... i just want to know if its possible or not.

Well you can always use the set unit HP % trigger. Or if you don't want to use/cannot use it in your map then use the Virtual Hp system.

Using the trigger system might take up quite a few triggers (100 at max if you wanted the the health to go down at the finest rate possible). But the virtual HP system can sometimes be useless, but mostly is the only thing you can use. Its possible but difficult or time consuming and annoying.

If you don't mind the time taken, you could always move the unit to a box and have something smack it about for a short time, then move it back...

Or, change the number of attackers there so you can control the amount of damage taken.

To answer the original question,

The real answer is no. Triggers can SET, but not ADD or SUBTRACT.

You can add or subtract "health" using virtual HP. There's a tutorial in the database, its the last tutorial there so I won't bother to post the link.
