Hi, im fairly new to starcraft editing and i think i've got the jist of things now for the basics anyway. Ive started making a survival map whereby you must survive for 30 minutes. All that part like buying the units, choosing the hero, Zerg attacking your units at certain times was easy. Now ive been reading alot of posts in these forums and they interest me, ones such as making spells. I looked in the tutorials section and that one appealed to me the most. Then it struck me to make it an inventory. I havn't tried the tutorial yet as it seems to confuse me like there are no such triggers like conditions to learn new spell. Anyway i had this idea that you can pick up satchels of spider mines, which automaticly go into your dropship and then when you use the dropship button it places a spider mine at the location of the unit placing it. Could it work?

That would work. You need a centered location and a unit that will fake the mines in transport. If you want I could make the trigger for you.

Yeh please that would be great, i mean just until i get the hang of things i didn't find that drop ship tutorial to be much help as i found it didn't explain the each part very well, so i didn't know what was what etc. Well i didnt anyway...

just give me some details like

how you want the mines to be picked up and how much mines in one satchel?

Well im not sure how to pick up items but i think it should be like, bring any unit to location Spider Mines, Create 1 unit at Inventory Location, remove all units owned by player 8 in that area. Set Switch 1. think thats how anyway

I think about 5 per satchel is reasonable enough... Thanks

No no no I didn't asked the trigger but how you want the mines to be picked up?
like you touch a power up with unit or with dropship itself. How you want it to happen?

Ive also realised that the zerg keep trying to attack the Inventories on my map how can i stop them from doing this.

Make the dropship invincible!

Ok I have finished it. And I can sure say it's a pretty cool idea. Everything works fine! You can use this as you want. But there are few things that you should remember about those triggers.

1-The time before switch is cleared must be 1500 milliseconds! If not it won't work!

2-The location centered on dropship must be ground only(disable all 3 air evaluations). Because units in dropship are floating in air.

Hey cool thats amazing, just how i wanted it. That problem about the dropship what i ment was every 3 minutes a wave of zerg come and ive set them to attack the location which is centered around all units owned by the current player. And they keep going to the Dropships. Which i've put in a certain area of the map so they cant fly about and pick people up. I guess i can try to figure it and once again thanks a bunch for that trigger help, ill include you in my credits.

Sure I take it you play on Battle net, because im hoping to release a version of it soon (well one that actually works) , ill put it on europe server first and if people like it ill do the others and put it online here

Damn i just copied the trigger over to my map and changed all the neccesary bits accordingly, and it works up until its time to use the skill and all it does is unload the "Fake mine" and do nout. any ideas ive gone over your triggers and the triggers i copied so many times and i just cant seem to spot the problem

I thought about my triggers and understand that I made them wrong. You wanted the mines to be placed around the miner not the dropship right?

Ok, i know how you can fix this. Instead of center the location around all units, just make a location covering everything but where u dont want the zerg to attack, and instead of centering the location around all the units, just make it surround the units in the locations
