Planet X Site : http://xfacts.com/x3.htm

Theres a theory that a 10th planet exists or existed in our galaxy. The Sumerians wrote about them in their "7 tablets of Creation" Saying the planet crashed into Earth 4.7 billion years ago. As it neared it created the floods (noah and the ark). It would explain why man thought the earth was flat, the floods, and the creation of the asteroid belt.

This is very old new's, It has already been proven that it was a hoax. The person that came up with the theory even said that it was a hoax.

though thats a hoax i heard of a tenth planet way out there (like twice the distance of pluto) thats is supposedly in our solar system but i don't know.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kashmir on 2005-07-27 at 03:48:39
yes it may be a hoax but NASA already confirmed a 10th planet, now the debate is whether it can still be considered a planet as it is a bit smaller then Pluto. BTW the person who came up with the theory did NOT admit anything. She still is sticking to her guns.

ROFLCOPTER!! THE BANNER AND NAV BAR WAS TAKEN EXACTLY AS A TEMPLATE TUTORIAL PUT IT TOGETHER AT CRUNKEDDESIGNS.COM.

I think that's the URL and you'd think that they woulda chosen to make their own template tongue.gif

That sounds like BS to me. That planet X thing... Though there IS another planet in the Sol System (there is no "ar" when you use the name of the sun to describe the solar systems of a galaxy) that raises our count to 10. It's name is Charon and it's such a freaking huge ass moon (in comparison to Pluto) that it's pretty much considered a planet. It orbits Pluto and is about the same size as it too. Creepy eh?

I find that this is the best part of the article

QUOTE
Another favorite claim of Mark Hazlewood is that NASA found the tenth planet back in 1983, and even announced it. This is patently untrue. What really happened was that a satellite used to make astronomical observations in infrared light found several objects that were previously unidentified. During a press conference, the astronomers made a list of potential sources, including (but not limited to) a tenth planet. Of course, the headline in the Washington Post zeroed in on the planet possibility, but science is generally not done by headlines. Sure enough, follow-up observations made later showed clearly that most of the objects were distant galaxies, and another was a gas cloud in our own Galaxy. No planet.

They did find a planet like objects a bit ago, but it were more like oversized asteroids. Quoar, further out than Pluto, almost in the Kuiper Belt.

There is a tenth planetiod (is that even a word), called sedna, its basically another gargantuan moon like charon
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Kashmir on 2005-07-27 at 22:41:42
I'm not too sure about planet X and such but there is a 10th planet, whether it be sedna or something else, no one can deny the fact that some gravitational force is tugging at pluto and neptune.

Charon is hardly gargantuan; it's the smallest moon in the solar system.

Some scientists believe that there is a small black hole somewhere at the edge of the solar system.

the weird thing is why does planet X orbit diffrent from the other planets?
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2005-07-28 at 08:27:44
Possibly because it's a black hole and is relatively unaffected by the Sun's gravity.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by The_Shattered_moose on 2005-07-28 at 12:12:25
I meant gargantuan in a reletive sense, seeing as charon is nearly as large as pluto, and sedna isn't much smaller.

Not to be rude or anything, but have you thought that maybe our Solar System is the galaxy itself?

Just a thought tongue.gif

I don't think so the universe is a big place and I think scientists have given our galaxy an estimated distance (i think).
Report, edit, etc...Posted by CaptainWill on 2005-07-29 at 19:16:47
Yeah, our solar system is way out in one of the Milky Way's arms.

I can officially say to all you non-believers.... well, read my siggy. May not be Planet X, but if you got what i was saying, the whole point was that there IS a 10th planet.

Yeah, I heard about that on the radio yesterday. You were right.

So there pretty much is a tenth planet? That's awesome!
Report, edit, etc...Posted by HorroR on 2005-07-30 at 11:30:33
So we're probably gonna send unmanned probes there in the next...20 years is what I'm thinking, unless it goes like the Discovery planet special Alien Planet. We're probably not going to find much life there. It's all probably microscopic bacteria and microorganisms.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Felagund on 2005-07-30 at 11:40:13
I can say without a doubt that there is nothing there. It's far too cold.
Report, edit, etc...Posted by Staredit.Net Essence on 2005-07-30 at 11:46:56
But what if there is a life form that can withstand extreme sub-zero degree temperatures?

You have to take all aspect into possibilities.

Here's a news item reported an hour ago...
http://in.rediff.com/news/2005/jul/30planet.htm

Ooooh... what now, son?

Realize, though, that the idea that a 10th planet has been out there was actually backed by scientific evidence, not just claims from ancient texts.

Pluto (9th planet) was found when people saw that Neptune's orbit was not consistent under the assumption that it was the last planet (i.e., as if there's another planet out there affecting it with gravity), and Pluto's orbit also lacked consistency when compared with existing data, and now we've found the reason.

heh i was right except it was thrice the distance....Anyways I eally doubt there is life out there on the planet i mean, look at Mars it had microrganisms but the planet lacked enough carbon to make it warm enough to support life and they died out....

I read about the so called "Planet-X" in a book when I was about 10 years old. I believed on it and I still do. Very interesting book by the way...
Guess its just an ice cold rock...
