I'm in the progress (i just started today) of a new kind of map that there are very little of, but im sure you all know about the "Triggers of God"
Storyline: You and 3 other players are space mercanaries accepting various missions, and make lots of money, wit this money you can buy either upgrades for the ship that you will later get after a mission, or you can buy new weapons, whoever pilots the "Mudarin" Will be able to buy much more powerful weapons than the lesser pilots of the small ships (scouts), you will also be able to upg the sheild amount and hp amount of you ship, since in the beginning they will be weak.
Pros: Can switch weapons during a battle, Can move anywhere you want (except out of map borders), Choose either upgrading or buying weapons, various missions will be around the map waiting for you, however you have no choice of your first mission.
Cons: Windows only due to the EUD triggers. If the pilot of the "Mudarin" leaves, the game is over, however i think i might be able to get around this.
Post what you think about this, and constructive comments are welcome
Sounds like a much better version of Space Pirates RPG. Youll be able to get out of your ship and fight people not just stay in the ship the whole time right?

That's Exactly what it's meant to be, and if it were 'mac-friendly' it could be a lot more popular, but using these triggers its so far impossible.
And of course you can get out of the ship! Although, ill make it less cheap of doing so. I remember when i did that, i was fighting for an hour and i still didnt die
EDIT: Also, for some weapons there will be level 2 and for the Mudarin there will be lvl 3 laser batteries, and can also use 3 other weapons, all quite powerful, but most costly. Which will give people a reason to want to pilot the main ship.
EDIT2: I dont think i can get around it, theres only 3 scouts and ima use the wraiths for stuff... but w/e...

Wait, what's the point of using EUD? It seems like almost everything can be done with normal triggers.

Sounds pretty sweet. However i hope that ur not thinking of making the units to weak wen they start.
How do you mean? Damage, Gunships from the main ship will be weaker than expected probably... and once your ship dieds, you will respawn inside the main ship and you can repair or re-buy the ship. Each person will get their own ship, so you cannot steal other's hard earned weapons
EDIT: Also since i cannot modify the scout's air weapons or artanis ground weapons, the switching weapons shall be on hold, however im done all the triggers for them, i just needa add in correct units and players (i've been using only x-tra so far).
Hmm... if Terran and Protoss units cannot regenerate health anyway, adding max HP can be done with normal triggers anyway.
By switching weapons, do you mean changing a unit's attack in-game? That would be one thing normal triggers can't do, though most people just switch the unit itself.
Whatever.

Wait, if you use EUD to switch weapons, wouldn't that affect all of the ships of that one type? Meaning if they were all the same scout, and one of them switched, they would all switch.
Yup, everything you own will switch. If it's a scout....But I don't think seperate players will affect each other.
If you use EUD to change the weapon of any unit, it affects all of that unit in the game. IE. Giving a scout a laser will give all scouts in the game, independant of owner, lasers.
How many players are there? If there are only 3 lesser pilots you can make them the different scout types.
There is Mojo, regular, and Artanis.

I thought changing weapons needed P9-12 deaths? Im pretty sure it said that when I tried once...
dont you still have to recreate the units after the EUD's? you should use the transport space trigger for the ships so that you actually go into them and then u can sue an ai script to unload them.

If you sue an AI script, make sure you have a good lawyer.
I've also started another, different rpg, based on LoH, just cuz it pwns so much
I've put his rpg on hold, until we c an get around p9-12 deaths and news about if the patch is coming out or not
