I just realized how cheap and unfair the interest thing really was

Apparently, everyone had the plan of using their obtained interest, to buy even more interest points.

I doubt newbies will stand a chance againt 100% interest

I removed it, and put in 5% interest rate. Why not higher? Because thats one fast way to get rich. We need to have the bank go a tad bit slower

Pfft, I won't really mind if you decrease the deposit and withdraw rates a bit. Maybe make the interest lower as you have more money gradually. But come on, the taxes are really unfair to everyone. At least make it stuck at something like 3% for both withdraw and deposit. Or could make it grow more expensive gradually for people with more money.

Would it be easy to code it exponentially? I mean, if someone have less than 10k in bank, 0%. If someone have 20k, 1%; 40k, 2%; 80k, 4%; 135k, 5%; 180k, 6% and more than 250k, 8%.

Hey, I'm just making suggestions here. Well, okay, maybe a bit of whining. All work and little play makes SpaceBoy whiney.

Here's another suggestion: make the tax/interest effected by contributions to the community. You know, download submissions, participation, words per post, posts per day, or any of the other miscellaneous stats around.

Or you could use the same system as you did for the unit production. Make it steadily more expensive (doubles at every step) or something. That would discourage a few people... (like paly )

isnt the whole bank stuff kinda cheating sicne noone can attack you for those money and then attacking is ratrher useless, i think those taxes should be way higher to keep your money safe...

Indeed... it wa pretty cheep.. considering SP would have like a million in a matter of weeks but maybe there should be a tax on people with rather large back accounts.

Meh, 5% is higher than I had. Even if you wanted to get to a high interest amount, you would be losing a lot of money to do so. I calculated where mine would go and up 2% was the most cost effective mine would be. I say there just should've been a limit somewhere, but I guess 5% for everyone will be fine.

5% sounds fair, I'm a newb to the whole interess thing. I think there should be an interess increase, but only once can you get it! And it should cost like 1000000000 to get!

the bank just ruins the idea of attacking.. since i wanna steal all your money and you have them in the bank that makes defence useless since i wont need to protect my money..

What would be really cool is if the bank was always active, like you don't have to put money in, it just adds 5% everyday. That way we can steal money when we attack, and have to worry less about putting money in the bank before we log off every day!

Then it's totally unfair! That defeats the purpose of crushing others like a bug! Anyways, the counter resets everytime you put money in, so you don't get any interest at all.

Hmm, maybe you can choose to get interest, though you have to collect it manually and you have to deposit money youself, or, your money is automatically put into the bank and you can't lose any, but you don't get interest either.

No, what happeneds is right before Yoshi gets off for the night, he just presses a button that causes interest to happen all over staredit.net. It will shut the site down for people maybe for a minute, but after everyone has more money!


Do you want to explain that? I mean, why not crush them like a bug AND steal their money! I mean, it sounds fair! Also, it leads to a raise in Defence around the network!

Oh, sorry, I misinterpreted your post. I thought by stealing money you meant that you would retreive money to help yourself (okay, I wasn't thinking clearly then). And yes, I do agree with you that the bank should be eliminated, but I still want the interest thing not to be automatic, so that you'd have to get online everyday and all. Not sure how that would work though, so bear with me, it's an idea in progress.

well i atleast think there should be possible to steal peoples money that they have stored in the bank, otherwise attacking is useless but since this is my third post saying this i guess you know thats what i think already
