I like how YOU made this tutorial on how to do something unlike the others here 
1 problem is you got this mixed up with Photo Enhance. You and n2o always mix these up. Photomanip is like erasing the windows off a how or putting Kerry's head on a supermodels body or doing that to yoshi

I did photomanip at school with a halo 2 pic of two Elites and put a coca cola machine in it, made one of the elites wear a coca cola "badge" and hold a bottle of coca cola, it looked so funny cause aliens dont have cola! But yea, this isnt photomanipulation, thats just screwing with the saturation and whatnot making part of it stick out...

Great tutorial, though it might be better labeled a color manip tutorial. =) Anyways, this should get people started who want to know how to change colors easily (personally I use burn/dodge tools, or else set the opacity of brushes to different precentages until I get the effect I desire)

Im not illiterate in PS im just getting new to the program thats all. If youve seen any of my work you can tell im a PS newb lol.

There are a few ways...off the top of my head create a straight horizontal line, gaussian blur it a little, and use the wave filter (under Filter> Distort) to create the wave. Go to Edit>Free Transform and change the direction its going. Use brushes to add a bit of flare and you got a nice lightening bolt esque thing going on.
