Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> Attacking Loadeds?

Out of curiosity, how, if possible, do you make loaded units attack?
To put it basicaly, this would allow me to turn units into moving bunkers.
Not the exact use I'm thinking of, but is it possible?

You could have a bunker constantly moving with an air unit, and have units loaded inside.

Wouldn't that just be creating the invisible bunker effect? If you move the bunker, won't the units just be shooting from their original spot?

Devilesk, you were the one who made the ranching thing, right? Did you try ranged units loading in the marine?

This wouldn't allow what I'm planning, and anyways, it would mean I could only have one bunker for each air unit I have.

Right, forgot about that. So that's the third and most important problem with Yoshi's idea.

So... what I'm looking for is a way to load units into another unit, and have them shoot out.
One example of what this would accomplish is Dropships that Marines can fire out of...

Yes, I've loaded Jimmy's and Marines into other Jimmy's smile.gif Not sure if you can get them to attack though. And I'm not sure what makes a bunker different from say a dropship in that it can attack, ask DK he'll probably know.

Well, as far as I know, it's impossible to make another unit function like the bunker, just like it's impossible to create another carrier or reaver. No one has ever managed to get it to work before, even with the full set of modding tools, and considering how many people have tried I think you can safely assume it's impossible.

Editing the bunker to be able to move and shoot also has never worked before, and many people have also tried this because it's such a popular idea. Again, I think you can safely assume it is beyond the abilities of modding, but I can't conclude that it's beyond the capabilities of EUD. If you could find a way to poke at the memory of the units inside the bunker and relocate them to the current position of the bunker, you might be in business. Unfortunately, I think this is a job for an experienced memory editor.

Yay, I can do modding assistance in mapping assistance now!

If Devilesk did manage to make a Raynor be able to load and unload units like a bunker (which I saw in his map), it should be able to shoot, right?

Wait, Devilesk, it was a bunker and not a dropship you had, right?

he must have used the EUD trigger to give transport space to the unit. to unload them u have to use an ai script.

urmom is correct.

Well, like he said he didn't use a bunker, but if he did it would just cause the invisible bunker effect where the unit moves but the shooting still comes from the original spot where the unit was loaded.

in here, there is a trigger for the dragoons to pick up units. i cant pinpoint which action it is but itll help you learn i guess. The dragoons also act like air units.[attachmentid=12768]
