Yoshi or IP, could you possible change the minimum letter count of the search tool to 3 instead of 4? I'm kinda lookin for something that had 3 letters only and I can't expand it more because searching for a few hours is not on my agenda

Yea, I've also found that minimum VERY annoying MANY times. Recently I tried searching Mac, but it's too short

I second (third?) that. I tried searching for UED, which appears to be a frequent abbreviation of my name.
I've also tried searching for "WB" and "BF", which are, of course, even shorter. Is it possible to make an allow list for the searches? Or perhaps a disallow list? Very common words, single letters, and HTML tags would have to be disallowed, but there are some shorter searches which would be useful, and if not abused, not overloading to the server.

Ok, then how about 3 letters? Seriously 4 is a bit large for many things people look for.

Everything you do thats changable is stored in a database. Whenever you want something from the database, you have to get it using a query. The more queries you have, the slower things go. The more data and searching a query has to do, the slower pages load.

Oh, okay. I have 17 queries coming to this page... seems like a lot of stuff, well now that I can think of it, I guess it all comes together, signatures, avatars, posts, buttons, If that is what I am thinking of..

A search for "apple" took 13 queries, 0.0138 seconds, and found 215 results.
A search for "starforge" took 13 queries as well, 0.8185 seconds, and found 3998 results.
A search for "time" took 13 queries, 0.8577 seconds, and found 21171 results.
From these, I deduced that the time of the search seems to increase as the frequency of the word and the length of the word increase. I highly doubt that "WB", "BF", and "UED" occur thousands of times on the site. How about the search has to be something like 4 letters if its on word, 3 each if its two, and two each if its three or more. Sometimes I would search for a phrase that includes a 3-letter word and can't.

I've found this annoying too.
I've recently tried searching for something... relatively specific, but because of the character limit, my search term had to be degraded into one word that could get me hundrdeds, of not thousands, if not hundred of thousands of results.
