Staredit Network -> UMS Assistance -> EUD help! How to change the unit wireframe.

Well... if it is possible to change unit wireframes
then which one is it from the options in memcalc?
The closest I could think was 'Animation level' in UNITS.DAT but
it didn't seem to have anything related with wireframes...
If someone knows, can anyone share the info?
oh, and just in case, wireframe is the picture on the
bottom left when you click a unit, opposite from the unit portrait.

No, you can't change a unit wireframe.

Animation Level in MemCalc is at what height the unit is drawn. 4 is used for ground units, and 16 is the most common for air units.

You can change a unit's property.

It's like using hypnosis to make it think it's someone else, but... not.

So basically, changing a wraith's Animation level to 4 will allow a zergling to hit it, and changing a marine's A.L. to 16 will let a marine hover over cliffs and water?

Edit : Sorry, no needs to answer this Q. I could of figured it out myself. Just being lazy >.<

There are a few parts to air vs ground unit, not all I understand. I think, but I may be wrong, that the animation level is where the unit actually is, i.e. whether it can pass over unwalkable terrain, and the Movement Flags are for targeting.

Though I think there's also more to the Movement Flags. I'm sure BST can write a 50-paragraph tutorial on this for us tongue.gif

Yes, there are three parts to it. From experience I have found that animation level is the primary controller of whether a unit moves over all terrain or whether it can only move on ground, but I have never tested modding animation level separately so it doesn't concord with the movement flags. I never thought about testing that because it never seemed like interesting effects could come out of it, but if you're bored one day you can try it. The "flyer" flag which is found as a special ability flag is the one that sets whether a unit is targetted by ground weapons or air weapons.

So, you can have a unit that moves over all terrain (like an air unit) but is treated by weapons as a ground unit, or a unit that moves only on ground terrain but has to be targetted by air weapons.
