Hey, its urmom. Can you tell me if this Defense idea has been done before? Also post comments and suggestions to what i can do better. I've been experimenting with mixing different game genres.

Gameplay :

This defense if a bit different from the others.  You are competing against the other players.  The defense part will be like Tarpit Defense.  BUT, there is a twist.  To advance levels in the defense you will have to complete stages in a bound.  Every bound stage that you complete will start the next round in the defense.  Whoever beats the bound and doesnt loose in their defense will win.
Questions and Answers :

Cant the defenders just stay on the first level to make their defense better? : Yes they can, BUT if the other people are good then they will fall behind in the competition and lose.  Its best to stay proportional with the bound levels and your defense.

Will there be lives for the bound? : Yes, you may also buy additional lives in the defense section.

nope haven't seen something like this before; though i don't like it much. Bounds and defence put together doesn't mix well to me, i mean defences make lag sometimes which isn't good for bounds. Though, if it is an easy or somewhat easy bound, then...i don't know.

Sounds neat, but you should make sure no one can just sit around at lv1 and let the others slowly die off.

Yeah, like in Defense F, where the timer starts and then everyone gets a spawn that they have to kill.

hey thanks for the replys. i may be able to post screen shots tomorrow. i dont really care for bounds much either but the idea popped into my head and i just went with it. im trying to actualy finish a map too because rpgs(which i normally like to do) are too long and i give up on them so i should be able to finish this for once.

also sorry for the multiple threads, that occurred when the site was going down. i pmed somebody to have them deleted and im sorry to hear that i wasnt the first person to think of this. do you know the name of that map?

sorry, i posted at the same time as you. maybe i could add a timer and if you dont pass the level so quickly it automatically starts the next round and subtracts a couple lives or something. any better ideas?

You would need a lot of bound obsticals. And you should add a timer so that the players have to finish the bound in a certain time and can't wait around for the other players to finish. Or you could make it so the last player to finish it gets no minerals that way they will compete to see who can beat the obstical first.

this map may have alot of triggers too urmom i mean how many levels are u planning on making? i suggest around 20 to 30, theres pros out there wink.gif

i think there will be at least 300 triggers but thats not too many i dont think. im trying to get enough done so that you can see some screenies.

but like a twist (kinda like how you said with Tarpit D and stuff)

im not sure, ive never played that.

ADDITION:
i think ive made up my mind on this. if i have each player have their own bounding spot i will run out of locations. I think i've thought of a way so that they can all share the same bound course so that I dont have to re-use the obstacles and can make them better.

also, i dont think i can post screen shots just yet.
