I'm makeing a bound map and i have like 4 exploding that work fine. But after those first 4 no more will work. Can some one please help me...

Be more specific or post the map. Do you mean the first four levels work? Or the first level runs four times and then stops? Please post deatiled problems for detailed answers.

This wont help you, well maybe it will save you some time.

DON'T make a bound map. DLDB is already flooded with pointless bounds. I really don't understand why you people are still making these damn bounds. Make a real map like a nice RPG or a defence map. You don't have to make a bound every time you are out of ideas for a cool map.

I just started makeing maps and Bounds seemed like a good way to start... and i mean after the first four levels the explosions are slow and dont work.

Well I don't see how making crap is a good way to start laugh.gif . I started with the RPGs, they were not the best but at least they were not bound(crap that most people hate). But it's still your chouse, somehow.

Yes, make sure you have a preserve trigger in there to keep the explosion trigger running, and also be sure to make sure there aren't any 'wait blockers' around your map that may be interfering with the obstacles.

Wait block-only one wait can be executed for 1 player at the same time. If a trigger with wait in it is executing then another trigger with wait in it will be blocked till the 1st one will end.

hyper trigger(HT)-makes all triggers go faster. Without HT trigger can execute once in a second. With hyper trigger 12 in a second.

Description:
hyper trigger
Players:
¤ Player that has no wait triggers
Conditions:
¤ always
Actions:
¤ wait for 0 milliseconds
¤ wait for 0 milliseconds
¤ wait for 0 milliseconds
¤ copy "wait for 0 milliseconds" till you cannot copy anymore, delete one and make "preserve trigger"

Well I hate all crappy maps that ruin SC and floods B.net. And bounds ARE crap. Go to DLDB and look how many bounds there are. It just looks like everybody makes a bound when they are out of ideas for real maps.

I started with RPG. It is a good way to learn stuff and experiment. It is so sad when I see a new mapper who has decided to make another crap(bound but it should be called crap).

i c, well bounds were pretty popular back then..now they are dying out and rpgs becoming more popular...

Being popular between certain people(I am NOT going to become rude) does not make crap(bounds) good/original/creative or anything else well respected between mappers.

Maybe few are a little creative but mostly they are all the same mellow.gif yucky.gif puke.gif ... damn crap.

Well, this is kind of for Dead, as well as Cracker.


RPG's are NOT good to start out with. I'll repeat that: RPG's are NOT good to start out with.

Because, that's just rediculous. If you jump into RPG's too learn, you won't learn anything. Period. End of story.

What you are doing Cracker is good. It's good to start with bound's. Because, you can kind of learn how to get switches/death counter's down. You can also learn a little bit about waits. But, once you complete bounds, your next map should be something like a basic madness map.

Anyway, what I am saying is it's not good to start with RPG's. Cracker, you are doing just fine.

I would recommend this:

1. Bounds
2. Defenses
3. Basic Madness Maps (Like Evolves or Zergling Blood)
4. Harder Madness Maps (Like Golems)
5. Maybe start on RPG's


That's kind of how I started. But, meh... Whatever works for you.

laugh.gif 2nd is defence? Defence require to much balancing and stuff for a new mapper. And why you can't learn while making RPG? I repeat: making crap cannot be a good way to start. Another good way to start is making map that related to other games. Like a bomberman map or one of the Half-Life team play mods like TFC or CS. When you make these babies you know what exactly you need and can learn a lot.

As for you cracker. Don't submit your bound. I bet DLDB is already full with maps similar to your bound.

I don't know, it depends on the rpg, have you ever played any really good ones like LOH or the deep blue demo? Those have nice stories, beautiful terrain, and excellent systems.

Bounds are probably the most common maps made. And they can be easy/hard to make. Mainly easy. Rpgs can be hard/easy to make as well. Bounds are usually what most of the people on starcraft have made or want to make. They are very common for first maps. So if this guy really wants to make a bound then isn't the right thing to do help/inspire him?

Hmm, your problem is either no preserve, or you put hypertriggers for all players.

And no, not "all" bounds are crap, to me anyway. If the maker adds a new element to the game so that its not the normal classic style everybody is so tired of, then I find it not to be "crap". Like, Vic, I too find RPGs long, easy, and a waste of my time. pinch.gif
