Is your cd all scratched? I had a problem with it running off the cd. What you can do is rip the cd to an image file and run it off a virtual drive. But I'd try washing the cd under cold water first

lol, Are you sure washing it in water helps? I thought that will completely rape the CD. Oh and this is map making assistance, but oh well your new smile.gif

I had the same problem, I used to have two broodwar disks, but around a year and a half ago, I got this error, and found out when I opened up my disk drive the whole CD was broke in half, and was hot as hell. I think I was playing BW for like, 15 straight hours...

The one I am using now is on a rewriteable CD, my brothers friend gave it to us like, 6 years ago, and it is scratched up so bad.

Do you have the original Starcraft CD? Try that. If it is just broodwar, I'm pretty sure you can buy the expansion for 5$ nowadays.

Washing a cd in water only helps if you dry it completly and/or use completly pure water, otherwise, the minerals in the water will remain on the disk once it evaporates.

crazy.gif Whoa there. That's not nice.

Haven't you heard the cliche? Take a cloth, moisten with non-corrosive stuff, and wipe the CD from the center out, NOT IN A CIRCULAR MOTION.
