I saw a map where the gas sprites continuously repeated, about every 4 or 5 seconds. How do I make it repeat more than once?

Thats just the way the sprite is. You just gotta find the right sprite.

As far as I know there are only 5 animations of Vespene Gas, am I correct? I tested them all out and none of them repeat.

It was probably from a certain doodad for the tar terrain. Try looking at desert sprites.
